An efficient analytical approach for obtaining a five parameters model of photovoltaic modules using only reference data

Exploiting the equivalent one-diode circuit of a photovoltaic (PV) module, this paper proposes a novel and fully analytical model to predict the electrical performance upon solar irradiance intensity and PV module temperature. The model refers essentially to an equivalent circuit governed by five parameters and the extraction of them permits to describe the current–voltage curve of the PV panel and consequently permits to assess the energy output of PV modules. In this paper the use of discrete-time Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) models for the gain scheduling control and identification methods for non-linear or time-varying system is considered. We report an overview on the existing literature on LPV systems for gain scheduling control and identification. Moreover, assuming that inputs, outputs and the scheduling parameters are measured, and a form of the functional dependence of the coefficients on the parameters is known, we show how the identification problem can be reduced to a linear regression so that a Least Mean Square and Recursive Least Square identification algorithm can be reformulated. Full characterization of low-noise HEMTs using only noise figure measurements

A method for the complete characterization of microwave transistors in terms of noise, gain and scattering parameters using a computer-controlled noise figure measuring set-up only is presented. Selection of the optimum measuring conditions, all the steps of the experimental procedure, the data collecting and processing to derive all the parameters, are fully driven by an original (unpublished) software, even without the presence of an (unskilled) operator. Results are presented about the complete characterization of a series of ten pseudomorphicHEMTs in the 8-16 GHz range. The S-parameters are also compared with those measured by an ANA.

Least squares and genetic algorithms for parameter identification of induction motors

Abstract This paper deals with off-line parameter identification of induction motors by means of least square (LS) techniques and genetic algorithms (GA), using stator voltages, stator currents and velocity as input–output data. For analytical identification by LS algorithms, filtering of experimental data is performed by means of anticausal filters. Two models useful for identification are derived in which the products of acceleration and rotor fluxes, usually neglected, are taken into account. Modeling of Wind Turbine Gearbox Mounting

In this paper three bushing models are evaluated to find a best practice in modeling the mounting of wind turbine gearboxes. Parameter identification on measurements has been used to determine the bushing parameters for dynamic simulation of a gearbox including main shaft. The stiffness of the main components of the gearbox has been calculated. The torsional stiffness of the main shaft, gearbox and the mounting of the gearbox are of same order of magnitude, and eigenfrequency analysis clearly reveals that the stiffness of the gearbox mounting is of importance when modeling full wind turbine drivetrains.

Application of the Morris method for screening the influential parameters of fuzzy controllers applied to wastewater treatment plants

In this paper,we evaluate the application of a sensitivity analysis to help fine-tuning a fuzzy controller for a biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal (BNPR) plant. TheMorris Screeningmethod is proposed and evaluated as a prior step to obtain the parameter significance ranking. First, an iterative procedure has been performed in order to find out the proper repetition number of the elementary effects (r) of the method.
