Effect of Sex, Body Mass Index and Physical Activity Level on Peak Oxygen Uptake Among 14–19 Years Old Adolescents

The aim was to describe longitudinal trends in peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) among 14- to 19-year-old adolescents in Norway, and to examine effects of sex, body mass index (BMI), and physical activity (PA) level on VO2peak during adolescence. Of 124 invited students from two lower secondary schools in Norway, 116 eighth-grade students (61 boys and 55 girls; 14 years old at baseline) volunteered to participate. Tutkimuksemme on osa suomalaista VARJO-hanketta, jonka tarkoitus on kehittää palveluita eron jälkeisen vainon uhrien tueksi sekä ehkäisevään työhön ja kuntoutukseen liittyviä työmuotoja. Tutkimuksemme aineisto koostui naispuolisten vainon uhrien internetpohjaisen vertaisryhmän aikana käydyistä keskusteluista, joita tarkastelimme sisällönanalyysin avulla. Tutkimuksemme tarkoitus oli lisätä tietoisuutta vainon uhrien kokemuksista liittyen viranomaisten toimintaan ja tutkintaprosessiin sekä selviytymiskeinoista, jotka he kokivat hyödyllisiksi yrittäessään selviytyä eron jälkeisestä vainosta. Abstract We have limited understanding of why reviewers tend to strongly disagree when scoring the same research proposal. Thus far, research that explored disagreement has focused on the characteristics of the proposal or the applicants, while ignoring the characteristics of the reviewers themselves. This article aims to address this gap by exploring which reviewer characteristics most affect disagreement among reviewers. Background Children who are not accepted in their peer group are at risk of developing internalizing problem behaviors. It is possible, however, that supportive parenting can provide a buffer against the detrimental effects of low peer acceptance. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tarkastella työntekijöiden kuvauksia ja havaintoja siitä, miten ohjatussa äiti–lapsi-vertaisryhmässä tuetaan vanhemmuutta ja selviytymiskykyisyyttä. Tutkimuksen viitekehyksenä sovellettiin resilienssitutkimuksen ja Seligmanin (2011) PERMA-hyvinvointiteorian käsitteitä. Tutkimuksen kontekstina oli matalan kynnyksen perhekeskustoiminta ja kohteena äiti–lapsi-vertaisryhmä.
