Development and characterization of a bio-based epoxy matrix for high-grade bio-based composites

This study aims to develop 100% bio-based hemp/epoxy composites for semi-structural and structural applications. The thermal and mechanical performances of a 100% bio-based matrix derived from biomassare evaluated and reveal properties in the same order of magnitude as those obtained for polyepoxides based on DGEBA, that means a glass transition temperature of approximately 150°C and mechanical properties in the order of 120MPa for the maximum stress and 3.2 GPa for the tangent apparent modulus. This natural origin matrix is then used for the manufacture of composites reinforced with hemp rovings. Terpyridine-based metallopolymer thin films as active layer in ammonia sensor device

International audience; A metal-containing polymer has been prepared by electropolymerization of an homoleptic Ru(II)-terpyridine complex bearing pyrrole heterocycles. The polymer is obtained as a thinfilm at the surface ofelectrodes, and has been characterized by electrochemical measurements, XPS and microscopy. It hasbeen shown that this polymer acts as an active gas sensitive layer since it enables the detection of anammonia gasflow through layer’s resistivity measurements.

Intermittency in the homopolar dynamo

The stability analysis of this oscillator is performed. Two bifurcations are identified, first towards an ``intermittent'' state where the absorbing (non-dynamo) state is no more stable but the most probable value of the amplitude of the oscillator is still zero and secondly towards a ``turbulent'' (dynamo) state where it is possible to define unambiguously a (non-zero) most probable value around which the amplitude of the oscillator fluctuates.
