Hidden attractors and multistability in a modified Chua’s circuit

The first hidden chaotic attractor was discovered in a dimensionless piecewise-linear Chua’s system with a special Chua’s diode. But designing such physical Chua’s circuit is a challenging task due to the distinct slopes of Chua’s diode. In this paper, a modified Chua’s circuit is implemented using a 5-segment piecewise-linear Chua’s diode. In particular, the coexisting phenomena of hidden attractors and three point attractors are noticed in the entire period-doubling bifurcation route. Two new species of oribatid mites of the genus Lasiobelba (Oribatida, Oppiidae), Lasiobelba (Lasiobelba) daamsae sp. n. and Lasiobelba (Antennoppia) nepalica sp. n., are described from eastern Nepal. Lasiobelba (L.) daamsae sp. n. is most similar to L. (L.) remota Aoki, 1959 and L. (L.) gibbosa (Mahunka, 1985), however, it differs from both by the anterior part of pedotecta I specifically curved, rostrum pointed and exobothridial setae not shorter than bothridial setae. Lasiobelba (Antennoppia) nepalica sp. n. is most similar to L. The main goal of the long-standing clinical research project in the district of East-Savo was to develop an active role in physiotherapy for patients with stroke. A novel assessment instrument, the Postural Control and Balance for Stroke (PCBS) test, was developed side by side with the activating treatment. Present physiotherapy for stroke patients the emphasis is on the physiotherapist’s role, leaving no room for independent participation by the patient. The Egan problem on the pull-in range of type 2 PLLs

In 1981, famous engineer William F. Egan conjectured that a higher-order type 2 PLL with an infinite hold-in range also has an infinite pull-in range, and supported his conjecture with some third-order PLL implementations. Although it is known that for the second-order type 2 PLLs the hold-in range and the pull-in range are both infinite, the present paper shows that the Egan conjecture may be not valid in general. We provide an implementation of the third-order type 2 PLL, which has an infinite hold-in range and experiences stable oscillations. We present an analysis of the Chandra High Energy Transmission Grating Spectrometer observation of the rapidly rotating P_(rot)=0.94 d post T Tauri (~20 Myr old) star PZ Telescopii, in the Tucana association. Using two different methods we have derived the coronal emission measure distribution, em(T), and chemical abundances. The em(T) peaks at log T = 6.9 and exhibits a significant emission measure at temperatures log T > 7. The coronal abundances are generally ~0.5 times the solar photospheric values that are presumed fairly representative of the composition of the underlying star.
