In this article the Charge-Pump Phase-Locked Loop (CP-PLL) electronic circuit, which is used for frequency synthesis and clock generation in computer architectures, is studied. In this paper a fairly complete mathematical model of CP-PLL, which reliable enough to serve as a tool for credible analysis of dynamical properties of these circuits, is studied. We refine relevant mathematical definitions of the hold-in and pull-in ranges related to the local and global stability. Stability analysis of the steady state for the charge-pump phase locked loop is non-trivial: straight-forward linearization of available CP-PLL models may lead to incorrect conclusions, because the system is not smooth near the steady state and may experience overload. Volatile constituents of aerial parts ofCentaurea sibthorpii(Sect. Carduiformes, Asteraceae) from Greece and their biological activity

The volatile constituents of the aerial parts of Centaurea sibthorpii [Sect. Carduiformes, Asteraceae] collected in Greece were extracted by hydrodistillation and analysed by GC and GC-MS. Altogether 63 components were identified. Fatty acids and sesquiterpenoidic compounds were the most abundant components in the oil. A study on the biological activity of the oil showed no action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Abstract The first outbreak of citrus tristeza disease in Spain caused by Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) was recorded in 1957 in the Valencian Community (VC). In total c. 40 million trees, mainly of sweet orange and mandarin grafted on sour orange rootstocks, declined due to CTV. Large-scale surveys in different municipalities of the VC indicated that the disease spread very fast. Incidence increased from 11% in 1989 to 53% in 1998. Toxoptera aurantii and Aphis spiraecola (inefficient aphid vectors of CTV) predominated before 1985–87. Sorting signals in the cytosolic tail of plant p24 proteins involved in the interaction with the COPII coat.

The ability of the cytosolic tail of a plant p24 protein to bind COPI and COPII subunits from plant and animal sources in vitro has been examined. We have found that a dihydrophobic motif in the -7,-8 position (relative to the cytosolic carboxy-terminus), which strongly cooperates with a dilysine motif in the -3,-4 position for COPI binding, is required for COPII binding. In addition, we show that COPI and COPII coat proteins from plant cytosol compete for binding to the sorting motifs in these tails. Only in the absence of the dilysine motif in the -3,-4 position or after COPI depletion could we observe COPII binding to the p24 tail. This competition is not observed when using rat liver cy…

Purpose – A prominent labour market feature in recent decades has been the increase in abstract and service jobs, while the demand for routine work has declined. This article examines whether the components of Type A behaviour predict workers’ selection into nonroutine abstract, non-routine service and routine jobs.
