Borate-driven gatelike scaffolding using mesoporous materials functionalised with saccharides.

We report the development of an MCM-41 mesoporous support that is functionalised with saccharides at the pore outlets and contains the dye [Ru(bipy)(3)](2+) in the pores (solid S1; bipy = 2,2'-bipyridyl). For this hybrid system, the inhibition of mass transport of the dye from the pore voids to the bulk solution in the presence of borate is demonstrated in water at neutral pH. The formation of the corresponding boroester derivative is related to the selective reaction of borate with the appended saccharides. Osteoporozes medikamentu aprite Latvijas aptiekā - 16

Osteoporoze ir skeleta slimība, kura pasaulē kļūst aizvien izplatītāka. Tai ir raksturīgs samazināts kaulu blīvums un palielināts kaula lūzumu risks. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot osteoporozes recepšu medikamentu un recepšu D vitamīna preparātu apriti „Latvijas aptiekā – 16”, kā arī ar anketas palīdzību noskaidrot Skrundas ģimenes ārstu viedokli par osteoporozi un tās ārstēšanu. Ar anketēšanas palīdzību tika noskaidrots, ka Skrundā osteoporozes slimnieku nav daudz. Skrundas ģimenes ārsti saviem pacientiem visbiežāk izraksta lietošanai bifosfonātus. Darba ietvaros tika apkopotas 84 kompensējamās receptes, kurās visvairāk osteoporozes medikamenti bija izrakstīti 80 – 84 gadu veciem cilvēkiem. Vi…

Microporous alumina membranes electrochemically grown

Abstract The electrochemical fabrication of alumina membranes by anodizing of aluminium in phosphoric acid and oxalic acid solutions, in the temperature interval from −1 to 16 °C, was investigated in order to study the influence of different parameters (initial treatment of aluminium surface, nature and composition of electrolyte, temperature) on the final characteristics of the membranes. Porous layers were grown using a linear potential scan at 0.2 V s −1 up to 160 V in H 3 PO 4 solution and 70 V in oxalic acid solution. Sequestering aromatic molecules with a spin-crossover Fe(II) microporous coordination polymer.

All in a spin: A series of three-dimensional porous coordination polymer {Fe(dpe)[Pt(CN)(4)]}⋅G (dpe = 1,2-di(4-pyridyl)ethylene; G = phenazine, anthracene, or naphthalene) exhibiting spin crossover and host-guest functions is reported. The magnetic properties of the framework are very sensitive to the chemical nature (aromatic or hydroxilic solvents) and the size of the included guest molecules.

Size-selective incorporation of DNA nanocages into nanoporous antimony-doped tin oxide materials.

A conductive nanoporous antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO) powder has been prepared using the sol-gel method that contains three-dimensionally interconnected pores within the metal oxide and highly tunable pore sizes on the nanoscale. It is demonstrated that these porous materials possess the capability of hosting a tetrahedral-shaped DNA nanostructure of defined dimensions with high affinity. The tunability of pore size enables the porous substrate to selectively absorb the DNA nanostructures into the metal oxide cavities or exclude them from entering the surface layer. Fractional-order poromechanics for a fully saturated biological tissue: Biomechanics of meniscus

Biomechanics of biological fibrous tissues as the meniscus are strongly influenced by past histories of strains involving the so-called material hereditariness. In this paper, a three-axial model of linear hereditariness that makes use of fractional-order calculus is used to describe the constitutive behavior of the tissue. Fluid flow across meniscus' pores is modeled in this paper with Darcy relation yielding a novel model of fractional-order poromechanics, describing the evolution of the diffusion phenomenon in the meniscus. A numerical application involving an 1D confined compression test is reported to show the effect of the material hereditariness on the pressure drop evolution.

Katru gadu pasaulē pieaug osteoporozes slimnieku skaits, šī slimība vairāk skar sievietes. Tā sastopama 200 miljoniem sieviešu visā pasaulē vecumā no 60 līdz 90 gadiem. Šī kaulu slimība ir raksturīga ar zemu kaulu masu, kaulaudu mikroarhitektonikas bojājumus, izraisot kaulu trauslumu tādejādi palielinot lūzumu riskus. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir apkopot un analizēt osteoporozes ārstēšanai paredzēto medikamentu apriti Benu – 22 aptiekā laika periodā no 2014. gada 1.janvāra līdz 2015. gada 31.decembrim. Abstract High surface area pure mesoporous aluminum-phosphorus oxide-based derivatives have been synthesized through an S+I− surfactant-assisted cooperative mechanism by means of a one-pot preparative procedure from aqueous solution and starting from aluminum atrane complexes and phosphoric and/or phosphorous acids.
