It is well known that the President of the United States is elected by the Electoral College and not directly by the population. Every time a candidate who does not win the most popular votes is elected President, detractors of the Electoral College call for its abolishment and supporters extol its undoubtedly merits. The current paper focuses on the Spanish electoral rules governing political competition for the central “Congreso de los Diputados”. It is well-documented that the system as a whole has traditionally favoured one or the other of the two main political parties (PP and PSOE) at the expense of proportionality and the remaining political parties. This paper focuses on some key Spanish electoral rules and investigates how much the observed biases could be altered by introducing some alternative rules taken from the Swedish electoral system, ceteris paribus. The Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) aims to regulate insurance distribution in the EU regardless of distribution channels and means. Although new technologies affect insurance distribution, the IDD does not explicitly regulate this digital transformation. Insurers and intermediaries must comply with detailed business conduct rules that aim to counteract distribution risks. However, the IDD exempts ancillary insurance intermediaries from its scope when they meet certain conditions. Bakalaura darba tēma: “Pacienta pašnovērtējums pirms un pēc propofola i/v ievadīšanas endoskopiskiem izmeklējumiem”. Tēmas aktualitāte: Latvijā 2010. gadā kopā veica 90 838 endoskopijas izmeklējumus. 2015. gadā Latvijā jau veica 101 570 endoskopijas izmeklējumus un 2018. gadā veica 122 682 endoskopijas izmeklējumus. No 2010. gada līdz 2018. gadam kopumā endoskopisko izmeklējumu skaits pieauga par 31 844. Endoskopijas izmeklējumi ir aktuāli un ar katru gadu to skaits dinamikā tikai pieaug. Study Design. Prospective cohort study. Objective. To study symptoms, chronic disorders, and clinical findings in the low back, and work absenteeism, as predictors of hospitalization. Summary of Background Data. Socioeconomic and lifestyle factors are associated with back-related hospitalization, but the significance in the working normal population of low back symptoms and clinical findings are not known. Methods. The cohort (n = 902) was drawn in 1973 from among employees in the metal industry (n = 2,653).
