Changes in river pattern have been documented in the literature. The recognition of islands and vegetated patches, which is indicative of the evolution processes, requires simultaneous information at different points and at different times and field studies are still difficult and scarce. Modeling ontologies for robotic environments

On the basis of a multiple abstraction levels specification process, we developed a representational model for environmental robotic knowledge through the definition of a set of ontologies using a multi perspective approach. A general ontological model for typical indoor environments has been first developed, followed by its specialization using an implementation perspective. Actual software implementation of the ontology has been obtained via a XML-based markup language, used to build a repository for robotic environmental knowledge. Copyright 2002 ACM.
Rilkean Memories and the Self of a Robot

This paper discusses the concept of Rilkean memories, recently introduced by Mark Rowlands, to analyze the complex intermix of hardware and software related to the self of a robot. The Rilkean memory of an event is related to the trace of that episode left in the body of the individual. It transforms the act of remembering into behavioral and bodily dispositions, thus generating the peculiar behavioral style of the individual, which is at the basis of her autobiographical self. Implementation science has been developed to help understand why evidence-based practices are not adopted as rapidly as they might. We describe here the process a rehabilitation center in Paraguay is undergoing to transform itself into a state-of-the-art early intervention program. We describe the organization and its contextual strengths and barriers, the model it chose to implement, and the implementation procedures it has attempted. Digitalisaatio on ajankohtainen puheenaihe kouluissa ja se nousee esille myös uusissa opetussuunnitelmissa. Tämän tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää lukioikäisten opiskelijoiden kokemuksia digitalisaatiosta ruotsinkielen oppitunneilla. Tavoitteena oli selvittää mitä mieltä oppilaat ovat älylaitteiden käytöstä ruotsinkielen tunneilla ja miten niitä voitaisiin hyödyntää suullisen kielitaidon harjoittelussa. Tutkimukseen osallistui yhteensä 33 lukiolaista ja se toteutettiin syksyn 2017 aikana kyselylomakkeen avulla. Lomake koostui sekä avoimista kysymyksistä että monivalintaväittämistä. Rule of the One: Avicenna, Bahmanyār, and al-Rāzī on the Argument from the Mubāḥathāt

Avicenna is a strong proponent of what some of the later ones call qāʻidat al-wāḥid or ‘rule of the one’ (RO). The gist of RO states: from the one only one directly proceeds. In the secondary literature, discussion of this Avicennian rule is usually limited to a particular application of it i.e., the issue of emanation. As result, it’s not really clear what RO means, nor why Avicenna endorsed it. In this paper, I try and remedy this situation by doing two things – one on the taṣawwur front, the other on the tasdīq.
