Integration of Two Multiobjective Optimization Methods for Nonlinear Problems

In this paper, we bring together two existing methods for solving multiobjective optimization problems described by nonlinear mathematical models and create methods that benefit from both heir strengths. We use the Feasible Goals Method and the NIMBUS method to form new hybrid approaches. The Feasible Goals Method (FGM) is a graphic decision support tool that combines ideas of goal programming and multiobjective methods. A fuzzy decision support tool for demand forecasting

In this paper we present a decision support forecasting system to work with univariate time series based on the generalized exponential smoothing (Holt-Winters) approach. It is conceived as an integrated tool which has been implemented in Visual Basic. For improving the accuracy of the automatic forecasting it uses an optimization-based scheme which unifies the stages of estimation of the parameters and selects the best method using a fuzzy multicriteria approach. A Conversational Agent to Support Decisions in SimCity like Games

Computational intelligent techniques applied to economics have played an important role in the last years. In this paper we propose a framework based on an intelligent conversational agent embedded with a decision support system, aimed at suggesting the best managing strategies for a game-based model of a virtual town. The agent tries to prospect the future evolutions of particular choices taken by the user. Interaction is conducted through a natural language interface built as an Alice-based conversational agent.

GLOBAL DELAY TIME FOR GENERAL DISTRIBUTED NETWORKS WITH APPLICATIONS TO TIMING ANALYSIS OF DIGITAL MOS INTEGRATED CIRCUITS

We consider here a general nerwork composed by n‐distributed parameters lines (with telegraph‐equations models) and m‐capacitors, all connected by a resistive multiport. An asymptotic stability property drives us to define and evaluate a global parameter (“λ‐delay time”) which describes the speed of signals propagation through the network. Because of its simplicity of calculation and its tightness, the given upper bound of the λ‐delay time is useful in timing analysis of MOS integrated chips.

Physicians can fail to recognise the early stages of GD owing to a lack of disease awareness, which can lead to significant diagnostic delays and sometimes irreversible but avoidable morbidities. In this chapter, we carry out an overview and analysis of the usage of semantics to enhance environments in the domain of multiagent-based simulations. Firstly, we take a look at what a multiagent system (MAS) is, and after that we look at the environment for these systems, and why semantics are required in it. This paper empirically investigates and characterizes users of recorded music, both downloaders and purchasers. To this end we analyse the role of the variables defining the different segments of music users. In doing so, we have considered two main traits influencing the use of music. First, objective variables such as demographics, music consumption habits, music genres and technology. Second, subjective variables such as motives and attitudes towards piracy. Direct analysis in real-time high-resolution mass spectrometry as a valuable tool for polyphenols profiling in olive oil

A fast and reliable method to characterize the polyphenolic compound profiles in extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) has been developed using direct analysis in real time (DART) and linear ion-trap Orbitrap mass spectrometry (LTQ-Orbitrap-MS). Hydroalcoholic extraction increased speed and reduced matrix effects, and DART-MS/MS ensured accurate analysis. Characterization of polyphenol fingerprinting in EVOO samples takes 2 min. This method exhibited proper linearity (R2 ≥ 0.99) in the range of 5–2500 μg g−1, limit of detection (LOD) of 1.5 μg g−1 (signal-to noise S/N = 3), and limits of quantitation (LOQs) of 5 μg g−1 (S/N = 10) for resveratrol (a polyphenol not detected in olive oil).
