Understanding Blood versus Blond Orange Consumption: A Cross-Cultural Study in Four Countries

2022

Understanding consumer perceptions and attitudes to specific fruit is key information for not only increasing fruit consumption, but also for marketing reasons. It may also give clues to breeders to set quality objectives. This study explores different aspects that help to explain blood vs. blond orange consumption: availability and consumption habit, satisfaction attributes, facilitators and consumption barriers, consumption contexts, expectations and purchase intention. The study was conducted in China, Mexico, Spain and Italy, where citrus fruit consumers were invited to respond an online questionnaire. Our results revealed Italy as the country with the highest availability and consumpti…

One-pot preparation of surface modified boehmite nanoparticles with rare-earth cyclen complexes.

2007

We report on the one-pot synthetic procedure of cyclen derivatives bearing three acetate groups attached on boehmite nanoparticles, the complexing capabilities of these inorganic–organic hybrid materials with rare earth cations, and the behaviour as contrast agents or fluorescence probes. Dipole Moment Surface of the van der Waals Complex CH4–N2

2010

The interaction-induced dipole moment surface of the van der Waals CH(4)-N(2) complex has been calculated for a broad range of intermolecular separations R and configurations in the approximation of the rigid interacting molecules at the MP2 and CCSD(T) levels of theory using the correlation-consistent aug-cc-pVTZ basis set with the basis set superposition error correction. The simple model to account for the exchange effects in the range of small overlap of the electron shells of interacting molecules and the induction and dispersion interactions for large R has been suggested. This model allows describing the dipole moment of van der Waals complexes in analytical form both for large R, wh…

Electronic Properties of Mixed-Valence Manganates:  The Role of Mn Substitutional Defects

2002

Single-phase perovskites in the solid solution series La0.7+yA0.3-yMn1-xMxO3 (with 0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.10; A = Sr2+, M = Cu2+, Zn2+, Sc3+, Cr3+, Co3+, and Ga3+; A = Ba2+, M = Cu2+, Zn2+, and Sc3+) have been prepared via the acetic acid solutions freeze-drying method. This soft procedure makes possible strict stoichiometric control, and the synthetic variables allow one to maintain a constant proportion of Mn4+ (ca. 32%) in the 47 compounds prepared. In this way, the concentration of cationic vacancies at A and B sites is practically negligible in all cases. X-ray powder diffraction patterns corresponding to the 47 compounds have been completely indexed with rhombohedral perovskite cells. The cryst…

Steel-concrete bond in lightweight fiber reinforced concrete under monotonic and cyclic actions

2005

Experimental results of the local bond stress-slip relationship of reinforcing bars embedded in lightweight fiber reinforced concrete with expanded clay aggregates are presented. The effect of the following parameters were investigated: - dimension of specimens; - anchorage length; - percentages of hooked steel fibers; - geometrical ratio of transverse reinforcement; - confinement external transverse pressure. Prismatic specimens with deformed steel bars embedded for a fixed length equal to five and eight equivalent diameters were tested under both monotonic and cyclic reversal imposed displacements at the tip of the bars, in controlled displacement tests. The influence of the above mention…

Effect on osseointegration of two implant macro-designs:A histomorphometric analysis of bicortically installed implants in different topographic site…

2018

Background To evaluate the effect of two different implant macro-designs on the sequential osseointegration at bicortically installed implants in the rabbit tibia. A further aim is to compare the osseointegration at different topographic zones. Material and Methods 27 New Zealand rabbits were implemented. Two implants, one for each macro-design (Ticare Inhex® or Ticare Quattro®, Mozo-Grau, Valladolid, Spain), were randomly implanted in the diaphysis or metaphysis of each tibia. The flaps were sutured to allow a submerged healing. The animals were sacrificed after 2, 4 or 8 weeks. Ground sections were prepared and analyzed. Results No statistically significant differences were found between …

Cellular imaging using BODIPY-, pyrene- and phthalocyanine-based conjugates

2017

International audience; Fluorescent Probes aimed at absorbing in the blue/green region of the spectrum and emitting in the green/red have been synthesized (as the form of dyads-pentads), studied by spectrofluorimetry, and used for cellular imaging. The synthesis of phthalocyanine-pyrene 1 was achieved by cyclotetramerization of pyrenyldicyanobenzene, whereas phthalocyanine-BODIPY 2c was synthesized by Sonogashira coupling between tetraiodophthalocyanine and meso-alkynylBODIPY. The standard four-steps BODIPY synthesis was applied to the BODIPY-pyrene dyad 3 starting from pyrenecarbaldehyde and dimethylpyrrole. H-1, C-13, F-19, (BNMR)-B-11, ICP, MS, and UV/Vis spectroscopic analyses demonstra…

BODIPY-phosphane as a versatile tool for easy access to new metal-based theranostics

2012

A new BODIPY-phosphane was synthesized and proved to be a versatile tool for imaging organometallic complexes. It also led to easy access to a new family of theranostics, featuring gold, ruthenium and osmium complexes. The compounds' cytotoxicity was tested on cancer cells, and their cell uptake was followed by fluorescence microscopy in vitro.

La lexicalisation des noms de marque en tchèque et en français : étude contrastive

2019

Brand names and product names represent an important category of the lexicon of any language and can be studied from different points of view. In our text, we will focus on the problems of the lexicalization of certain brand and product names. The aim of our article is to show the degree of lexicalization of the foreign brand and product names in comparison with the brand and product names of national origin. At the same time we also want to analyze their motivation and their registration in Czech dictionaries.
