In this paper we propose a firing statistics based neuronal network burst detection algorithm for neuronal networks exhibiting highly variable action potential dynamics. Electrical activity of neuronal networks is generally analyzed by the occurrences of spikes and bursts both in time and space. Commonly accepted analysis tools employ burst detection algorithms based on predefined criteria. However, maturing neuronal networks, such as those originating from human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), exhibit highly variable network structure and time-varying dynamics. Background and aims: The present study aims to assess possible qEEG differences between newly diagnosed multiple sclerosis (MS) patients with or without cognitive impairment (CI). Methods: We enrolled 22 patients (18-55-years-old) treated with first-line drugs for <6 months, and 11 healthy controls. All subjects underwent neuropsychological assessment including BICAMS and BDI. Analysis of the determinants of entrepreneurial intention: the case of Burkina Faso

International audience; In this study, we propose to analyze students' entrepreneurial intention, drawing on Lazear's (2004) self-selection model. This model captures the role of "human capital" in employment assignment and emphasizes the importance of the variety of skills in the individual's entrepreneurial orientation. For this purpose, we have a database collected in 2017 from over 1000 students at Ouaga I and Ouaga II universities in Burkina Faso. The results of estimates obtained using the quantile regression method show a positive and significant effect of the diversity of skills on the intention score, mainly at the median level. Rayleigh-instability-driven dewetting of thin Au and Ag films on indium-tin-oxide surface under nanosecond laser irradiations

Investigations have been carried out on laser-beam-induced nanoparticle (NP) formation in thin (5 nm) Au and Ag films on indium-tin-oxide substrate. After the irradiation the films were observed to break-up into NPs through a dewetting mechanism. This mechanism was investigated as a Rayleigh-instability- driven process. In fact, for each used laser fluence, the resulting Au and Ag NPs' mean size and surface-to-surface mean distance were quantified and correlated between them in the framework of the Rayleigh-instability theory showing an excellent agreement. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2013.

Šīs bakalaura darbs sniedz padziļinātu analīzi par idiomām rakstos par tirgvedību. Lai veiktu pētījumu, kvalitatīvā un kvantitatīvā analīze tika izmantota. Praktiskās daļas rezultāti liecina, ka pārsvarā vienā rakstā ir viena idioma. Lielākā daļa idiomu funkcionē kā darbības vārdi un lietvārdi. Mazāk ir idiomas kas funkcionē kā īpašības vārdi un apstākļa vārdi. Vismazāk idiomu funkcionē kā prievārdi. Korpusa analīze norāda, ka idiomas galvenokārt tiek izmantotas, lai padarītu angļu valodu krāsaināku, bet mazāk parādījās idiomas, kas tiek izmantotas, lai teksts šķistu interesantāks. Sākumlapai ir nozīmīga loma pievilcīgā veidā prezentēt mājaslapas satura izvilkumu. Šī pētījuma mērķis bija veikt struktūras analīzi multinacionālo uzņēmumu korporatīvām sākumlapām. Balstoties uz Korporatīvas Mājaslapas Modeļa pamatu (Askehave un Nielsen, 2005), tika veikta kvalitatīvā un kvantitatīvā izpēte trīsdesmit nejauši izvēlētām uzņēmumu korporatīvām sākumlapām. Teorētiskais pētījums atklāja, ka uzņēmumu sākumlapas satur noteiktus retoriskos soļus un hipersaites ar noteiktu tipu, kuras var analizēt piemērojot žanra analīzi. A study of ccc¯c¯ tetraquark decays in 4 muons and in D(⁎)D¯(⁎) at LHC

We perform a quantitative analysis of the decays of ccc¯c¯ tetraquarks with JPC=0++,2++ into 4 muons and into hidden- and open-charm mesons and estimate, for the first time, the fully charmed tetraquark decay width. The calculated cross section upper limit is ∼39(780) fb for the 4 muons channel, and ∼42(616) pb for the ⁎⁎D(⁎)D¯(⁎)→eμ channel, in the 0++(2++) case. Decay widths depend upon the additional parameter ξ=|ΨT(0)|2/|ΨJ/ψ(0)|2, which can be computed with a considerable error. We find Γ(0++)∼Γ(2++)=97±30. On the basis of our results and with the present sensitivity, LHCb should detect both 0++ and 2++ fully-charmed tetraquarks. peerReviewed

Jauniešu vecumposms ir tas laiks, kad cilvēks esošās zināšanas ir spējīgs uzlabot ar publiskajām runām un citās situācijās. Šis darbs pēta jauniešu prezentēšanas prasmes izaugsmi, kā arī apskata šo prasmju īpašības, ķermeņa valodas iedarbību publisko runu laikā, kā arī apskata, kas būtu jādara, lai publiskā runa būtu atmiņā paliekoša. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt kādas ir tipiskākās iezīmes prezentēšanas prasmēs jauniešu vecumposā, tādējādi rodot iespējas uzlabot viņu zināšanas un prasmes. Darbā izmantotas pētījuma metodes kā literatūras pārskats un apsekojumi. Apsekojumos studenti un skolotāji aizpildīja anketas.
