Walking tourism in Malaga: a pilot survey to explore tourism behaviours with a GPS approach

Walking tourism in urban destinations can be defined as a sequence of day visits and/or a sequence of walking tours. In this work, GPS tracking data on spatio-temporal behaviour of walking tourists in Malaga are reported as case study. Malaga is a booming tourist destination characterized by a city centre, particularly suitable for a pedestrian visit. From 22nd January to 19th March 2018 for a total period of 41 days, a survey was carried out with a specific protocol: 103 interviews were conducted and 101 GPS valid tracks were collected. Design, modeling, and simulation of a photovoltaic water pumping system

Electric pumps cannot be fed in those areas where they are not connected to the electric public distribution grid. In those areas, it is useful to feed electric pumps by means of the electricity generated from renewable energy sources plants. Among these, the Solar Water Pumping Systems feed electric pump thanks to the electricity generated by a photovoltaic plant. In this paper, a whole SWPS is fully designed, modelled, and simulated in Matlab environment. The proposed implementation is an useful tool for SWPS testing.

In water rails Rallus aquaticus, northern and eastern populations are migratory while southern and western populations are sedentary. Few details are known about the annual cycle of this elusive species. We studied movements and breeding in water rails from southernmost Norway where the species occurs year-round. Colour-ringed wintering birds occurred only occasionally at the study site in summer, and vice versa. Geolocator tracks revealed that wintering birds (n = 10) migrated eastwards in spring to breed on both sides of the Baltic Sea, whereas a single breeding bird from the study site wintered in north Italy. Resolution of the ATLAS muon spectrometer monitored drift tubes in LHC Run 2

The momentum measurement capability of the ATLAS muon spectrometer relies fundamentally on the intrinsic single-hit spatial resolution of the monitored drift tube precision tracking chambers. Optimal resolution is achieved with a dedicated calibration program that addresses the specific operating conditions of the 354 000 high-pressure drift tubes in the spectrometer. The calibrations consist of a set of timing offsets and drift time to drift distance transfer relations, and result in chamber resolution functions. While some studies have supported the preference for semantic cues, others have not. Abstract For perfect no-tension materials (NRT) the validity of the local stability postulate of Drucker, well known in plasticity, has been assumed so far and utilized to derive the local cracking laws, which relate cracking strain states and stress states to each other. On this base a finite-element (FE) model with suitable constitutive behaviour for the single FE is presented. Classical FE approaches enforce the cracking laws at the Gauss points of the FEs. Asserting the Precise Position of 3D and Multispectral Acquisition Systems for Multisensor Registration Applied to Cultural Heritage Analysis

International audience; We present a novel method to register multispectral acquisitions on a 3D model. The method is based on the external tracking of the acquisition systems using close-range photogrammetric techniques: multiple calibrated cameras simultaneously observe the successive acquisition systems in use. The views from these cameras are used to precisely determine the position of each acquisition system. All datasets can then be projected in the same coordinate system.
