Comparative Study of Different Maleic Anhydride Grafted Compatibilizer Precursors toward LDPE/PA6 Blends: Morphology and Mechanical Properties

The study deals with the effectiveness of maleic anhydride grafted styrene-b-ethylene-co-propylene copolymer (SEPMA) as compatibilizer precursor (CP) for blends of low density polyethylene (LDPE) with polyamide-6 (PA). The CP was produced by grafting MA onto SEP in the melt. The specific interactions between the CP and the blends components have been investigated through characterizations of the binary LDPE/CP and PA/CP blends. The compatibilizing efficiency of the MA-grafted SEP, as revealed by the thermal properties and the morphology of the compatibilized blends, has been shown to be excellent. Background The association of childhood leukemia with traffic pollution was considered in a number of studies from 1989 onwards, with results not entirely consistent and little information regarding subtypes. Aim of the study We used the data of the Italian SETIL case-control on childhood leukemia to explore the risk by leukemia subtypes associated to exposure to vehicular traffic. En este artículo se pretende estudiar la influencia que ejerce el área metropolitana de Valencia (AMV) sobre el espacio contiguo occidental (las comarcas del Camp de Turia y la Hoya de Buñol-Chiva) en un aspecto determinado: la explotación de los recursos geológicos de este espacio. Para ello el estudio se centrara en primer lugar en las condiciones litológicas del área en cuestión. Seguidamente, definiremos la evolución de este sector desde finales del siglo XVIII. Burnout prevalence in pediatricians of general hospitals

OBJETIVO: Analizar la prevalencia del síndrome de quemarse por el trabajo (burnout) en pediatras de hospitales generales siguiendo criterios de diferentes países. MÉTODOS: Estudio transversal, no aleatorio, realizado en Buenos Aires, Argentina, en 2006. La muestra la formaron 123 pediatras que trabajaban en Servicios de Pediatría de hospitales generales, 89 fueron mujeres (72,4%) y 34 hombres (27,6%). Los datos fueron recogidos mediante un cuestionario anónimo y autoadministrado. El SQT fue diagnosticado utilizando el Maslach Burnout Inventory, con diferentes criterios para establecer su prevalencia. The 42-aa-long β-amyloid protein—Aβ1-42—is thought to play a central role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) (Walsh and Selkoe, 2007). Data from AD brain (Shankar et al., 2008), transgenic APP (amyloid precursor protein)-overexpressing mice (Lesné et al., 2006), and neuronal cultures treated with synthetic Aβ peptides (Lambert et al., 1998) indicate that self-association of Aβ1-42monomers into soluble oligomers is required for neurotoxicity. The function of monomeric Aβ1-42is unknown. The evidence that Aβ1-42is present in the brain and CSF of normal individuals suggests that the peptide is physiologically active (Shoji, 2002).
