Recital 34 of Regulation No. 2016/1103 specifies that matters of matrimonial property regime related to proceedings pending before the court of a member state hearing an application for divorce, legal separation or marriage annulment should be dealt with by the courts of t…

Clinical justification of dental radiology in adult patients: A review of the literature

2007

Although the radiological doses used by dentists are low individually, patients are often exposured to many repeat dental radiographic examinations. The ‘routine’ use of dental radiography, such as screening of all patients using dental panoramic radiography (DPRs) or a random decision to take a dental radiograph, will inevitable lead to unnecessary patient exposure. The use of Radiographic Referral Criteria has now become a legal requirement for all practitioners following the adoption of European Legislation. All exposures to x-rays should be clinically justified and each exposure should be expected to give the patient a positive net benefit. Recently the European Commission has published…

2021

Party autonomy regarding jurisdiction under the property regimes regulations

2021

The main accomplishment of the Property Regimes Regulations lies in their bringing more coherence into the cross-border family law adjudication. In the field of international jurisdiction, they strive to align the competence in couples? patrimony disputes to that in succession and in separation proceedings, or else to align the competence of the courts to the applicable law. These tendencies are clearly visible in the Regulations? provisions on choice of court agreements. Namely, the Regulations allow for such agreements, but severely limit parties? choice and the possible effects of these clauses. The Influence of Agricultural Support on Sale Prices of French Farmland: A Comparison of Different Subsidies, Accounting for the Role of Environmenta…

2013

In this paper, using data from individual transactions for the period 1994-2010 in the French NUTS2 region Brittany, we investigated how environmental regulations and transaction land regulations influence the price of sold plots. Regressions on three sub-samples of buyers were performed in order to assess whether different buyers have different attitude or plans regarding the farmland purchased: a sub-sample including only farmer buyers, a sub-sample including non-farmer individual buyers, and a sub-sample including non-farmer nonindividual buyers. Estimations were performed ignoring and accounting for spatial interactions (model SARAR). Results indicate that the price of land decreases wh…
