Selection of the Proper Revenue and Pricing Model for SaaS

Recent research on software revenue and pricing models has revealed important ways in which firms can benefit from software renting. However, it is still unclear how SaaS providers select a proper revenue and pricing model to make their services attractive for customers. Based on 32 interviews with software professionals from four case firms, this study reveals how different factors impacted on the selection of a revenue and pricing model. The task of online change point detection in sensor data streams is often complicated due to presence of noise that can be mistaken for real changes and therefore affecting performance of change detectors. Most of the existing change detection methods assume that changes are independent from each other and occur at random in time. In this paper we study how performance of detectors can be improved in case of recurrent changes. We analytically demonstrate under which conditions and for how long recurrence information is useful for improving the detection accuracy. Tube transport of water vapor with condensation and desorption

Attenuation and delay of active tracers in tube transport is an important current problem, but its full explanation is still lacking. To this end a model is introduced, where part of a tracer undergoes condensation and evaporation, treated as a diffusion-type process, in addition to Taylor dispersion. Condensation of water was verified by high-speed imaging, and the model solution fitted the breakthrough curves of laboratory measurements with pulses of water vapor of varying relative humidity. The discussion around children’s digital game culture has resulted in two contradictory images of children: the passive, antisocial children uncritically and mechanically consuming digital game content and the active, social children creatively using and interacting with digital game content. Our aim is to examine how these seemingly contradictory ideas of “active” and “passive” children could be considered. Parental Trust in Teachers and Children’s Interest in Reading and Math: A Longitudinal Study

This study investigated cross-lagged associations between parental trust in a child’s teacher and children’s academic interest across Grades 1–4 in primary school. Parents rated trust in their child’s teacher, and 576 children reported their interest in reading and math at each grade. The results showed that high parental trust in a child’s teacher predicted the child’s high interest in math. In addition, the child’s high interest in reading in Grade 2 was related to the father’s subsequent trust in the teacher. peerReviewed

Koulussa ilmenevää kiusaamista on tutkittu varsin runsaasti. Useimmiten mielenkiinnon kohteena on ollut oppilaiden välisissä vuorovaikutussuhteissa esiintyvä koulukiusaaminen. Kuitenkin myös opettajat joutuvat oppilaidensa kiusaamiksi ja opettajat kiusaavat oppilaitaan. Lisäksi opettajat kokevat kiusaamista oppilaiden vanhempien taholta. Näistä koulun vertaisrajat ylittävistä kiusaamissuhteista tiedetään toistaiseksi varsin vähän, minkä lisäksi vertaisrajat ylittävän kiusaamisen käsitettä ei voida pitää vakiintuneena.
