El presente artículo aborda el recorrido del nacionalismo vasco durante la II República Española y su adecuación al nuevo marco constitucional. En él se explora la centralidad que el PNV tuvo desde el inicio y los recelos que despertó su proyecto hegemónico en Euskadi desde las élites republicanas españolas, que lo consideraban abiertamente contrario a los valores, principios y objetivos de la Constitución de 1931.

Vox Naturae: The Myth of Animal Nature in the Latin Roman Republic

The paper examines the representation of animals as embodiment of nature in the culture of the late Roman republic. By discussing a selection of passages from Sallust, Cicero and Lucretius in conjunction with other Greek and Latin sources, the paper shows that the typically Western myth of 'animal nature' - the cultural belief that animal mirror a perennial state of nature, as opposed to human society - played a very important role in the ethical debate of the first century BC and took in this period a form which was bound to influence the centuries to come.

On September 23, 1922, the Legislative Sejm of the Republic of Poland passed an act on the creation of the port in Gdynia. The resolution was a confirmation of the will of the Polish nation, which, although in the Treaty of Versailles, received access to the Baltic Sea, but without a port, which was necessary for the development of the state. Bearing in mind this important and round anniversary, the authors of the article decided to recall the most important circumstances and figures related to the construction of the port and the city of Gdynia. One of the challenges currently faced by emerging countries is to get their citizens to decide to use sustainable transport for their regular trips, in order to reduce the current vehicular pollution rates. The objective of this descriptive research is to examine the perceptions of Dominicans regarding the state of the country’s transport systems and road infrastructure. Results from studies evaluating potential effects of prenatal exposure to radio-frequency electromagnetic fields from cell phones on birth outcomes have been inconsistent. Using data on 55,507 pregnant women and their children from Denmark (1996-2002), the Netherlands (2003-2004), Spain (2003-2008), and South Korea (2006-2011), we explored whether maternal cell-phone use was associated with pregnancy duration and fetal growth.
