Long-term reliability of the Finnish behavioral and emotional rating scale

In previous research, the Finnish version of the Behavioral and Emotional Rating Scale-2 has demonstrated adequate internal consistency, factor structure and convergent validity. The purpose of the present study was to examine the long-term test-retest reliability of the Finnish BERS-2. Youth, parent and teacher BERS-2 ratings were collected once a year for three years in order to assess the stability of scores. All of the correlations were significant and moderate to very large in magnitude. Study limitations, future research and implications were discussed.

Fast Algorithms for Pseudoarboricity

The densest subgraph problem, which asks for a subgraph with the maximum edges-to-vertices ratio d∗, is solvable in polynomial time. We discuss algorithms for this problem and the computation of a graph orientation with the lowest maximum indegree, which is equal to ⌈d∗⌉. This value also equals the pseudoarboricity of the graph. We show that it can be computed in O(|E| √ log log d∗) time, and that better estimates can be given for graph classes where d∗ satisfies certain asymptotic bounds. Biological nitrogen removal from landfill leachate: a pilot-scale study

A pilot-scale two-stage process including an anaerobic pretreatment (up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket, UASB) unit and a pre-denitrification activated sludge process was studied for treating leachates from a municipal landfill (waste aged 4 to 5 years, area 2.5 ha) and from a windrow composting area (1ha). A single-stage pilot process was used for nitrification studies. The leachate characteristics were as follows: COD 740 to 2400 mg 1-1 (chemical oxygen demand), BOD7 (biochemical oxygen demand) approximately 1000 mg 1 -1, Ntot 40 to 120 mg 1-1 and the temperature was between 2 and 21°C. Long-term follow-up results of vesico-ureteral reflux treated with subureteral collagen injection (SCIN).

Endoscopic sub-ureteral injection is at the present a widely used technique for the treatment of vesico-ureteral reflux and it has a good range of efficacy, from 50% up to 90% in relation to different grades. In this paper we report our 1-7 year follow-up results of sub-ureteral collagen injection (SCIN).Between 1991 and 1997 we treated with SCIN 129 refluxing ureters in 93 children (60 females and 32 males), mean age 2.1 years (range 3 months-5 years). Abstract Soil water repellency (SWR) can influence many hydrological soil properties, including water infiltration, uneven moisture distribution or water retention. In the current study we investigated how variable SWR persistence in the field is related to the soil microbial community under different plant species (P. halepensis, Q. rotundifolia, C. albidus and R. officinalis) in a Mediterranean forest. Protein-protein interaction network querying by a "focus and zoom" approach

We propose an approach to network querying in protein-protein interaction networks based on bipartite graph weighted matching. An algorithm is presented that first “focuses” the potentially relevant portion of the target graph by performing a global alignment of this one with the query graph, and then “zooms” on the actual matching nodes by considering their topological arrangement, hereby obtaining a (possibly) approximated occurrence of the query graph within the target graph. Human milk (HM) is a complex biofluid containing a wide cell variety including epithelial cells and leukocytes. However, the cellular compositions and their phenotypic properties over the course of lactation are poorly understood. Localized charge storage in nanocrystal memories: Feasibility of a multi-bit cell

We have realized Si nanocrystal memory cells in which the Si dots have been deposited by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on the tunnel oxide and then covered by a CVD control oxide. In this paper we report a study on the potential of this type of cells for multi-bit storage. In particular, the possibilities offered by these devices from the point of view of program/erase mechanisms, endurance, and charge retention are shown and discussed.
