La ciudad y la huerta.

2005

The disappearance of the agrarian landscape ln the huerta of Valencia has been accelerated in the last years as a consequence of the advance on the disordered urbanization. This has given place to both a civic movement and a growing attention from investigators of diverse areas. The present article is a review of the recent publications about this topic. The text stands out the peculiar features of this agrarian space as well as the process of its historical formation. The arguments for the preservation of the huerta are mainly based in their ecological and cultural values. Also in the rich material patrimony that the irrigation and agricultural practices have left on the land. One of the m…

Effect of three different irrigation solutions applied by passive ultrasonic irrigation

2015

Objectives This study evaluated the maximum depth and percentage of irrigant penetration into dentinal tubules by passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI). Materials and Methods Thirty extracted human teeth were instrumented and divided into three groups. According to final irrigation regimen, 5.25% sodium hypochlorite (Group A, NaOCl), 2% chlorhexidine (Group B, CHX) and saline solution (Group C, control group) were applied with Irrisafe 20 tips (Acteon) and PUI. Irrigant was mixed with 0.1% rhodamine B. Sections at 2 mm, 5 mm, and 8 mm from the apex were examined with confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). The percentage and maximum depth of irrigant penetration were measured. Kruskal-Wall…

Effectiveness of passive ultrasonic irrigation in improving elimination of smear layer and opening dentinal tubules

2014

Objective: To compare the ability to eliminate debris and open dentinal tubules of different ultrasound irrigation procedures. Study Design: Forty extracted single-rooted human teeth were instrumented with mechanical rotatory instrumentation, and divided into four groups: (n=10) according to the final irrigation technique: group A (control), 2.5% NaOCl irrigation with the Miraject needle and no ultrasonic agitation; group B, passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI) with 2.5% NaOCl and Irrisafe 20 tips; group C, PUI with 2.5% NaOCl and Irrisafe 25 tips; group D, PUI with 2.5% NaOCl and K 25 tips. The amount of debris and the number of opened dentinal tubules was established by scanning electronic…

Agrarian development and state building in Spain: the contest for irrigation in the Valencian Region, 1770–1860

2022

AbstractA determined expansion in the productive capacity of Spanish agriculture was a fundamental and contentious objective during the crisis of the country’s ancien régime and the formation of the liberal state, in the years of transition from the eighteenth to the nineteenth centuries. In this study we examine a fundamental reorientation that occurred in an ambitious project for the expansion of irrigation in the region of Valencia. In this region, characterised by a well-rooted commercial agriculture, the original scheme, initiated by an enlightened aristocrat well connected with the royal court, would be profoundly altered in the transition from one political regime to another. The irr…

Darba organizācijas problēmas un to pilnveide viesnīcā Mercure Riga Centre.

2017

Ilze Bradovska izstrādājusi bakalauru “Darba organizācijas problēmas un to pilnveidošana viesnīcā Mercure Riga Centre”.

Cover crops and pruning in Bobal and Tempranillo vineyards have little influence on grapevine nutrition

2016

ABSTRACT Cover crops may improve vineyard soil properties, grapevine nutrient status and berry composition, however, factors such as cover crop type, annual rainfall, climate and irrigation may change their effects on vineyards. From 2008 to 2011, the effects of a non-permanent cover crop and two pruning techniques on soil as well as vine nutrients and grapevine performance of two vineyards (cv. Tempranillo and cv. Bobal) were evaluated. For that purpose, two legumes were sown in inter-rows of hand-pruned vines in February and were tilled at flowering. Soil tillage, or cover cropping, was combined with either light pruning or severe pruning to study foliar nutrient variations. Soil N, P, K …
