Charles Armstrong takes as his subject the place of infancy in Romantic-period ideas about education, with particular focus on the educational fiction of Maria Edgeworth, one of the most influential writers for children of the day. Armstrong contextualizes a selection of Edgeworth’s fiction for children in relation to the pedagogic treatise Practical Education (1798) which she co-authored with her father as well as a range of other contemporary debates about the role of literature in infant education. La percepción de amenaza física en la pareja y el bienestar en la juventud

El presente trabajo estudia la percepción de amenaza hacia la seguridad y/o integridad física en las relaciones de pareja durante la juventud en relación con variables del bienestar personal y de pareja en la actualidad. Participaron 316 jóvenes entre 18 y 36 años (M=23.61; DT=3.678), 72.47% se identificaron con el género femenino. Respecto a la orientación sexual, 64.87% fueron heterosexuales y 35.12% de otras orientaciones sexuales. L'articolo discute la duplice variazione che riguarda i costrutti percettivi delle varietà ladine: da un lato l'uso di due forme verbali diverse (gerundi e infiniti preposizionali), e dall'altro le differenze tra questi costrutti in ladino e nelle varietà iberoromanze. Sulla base dei dati tratti principalmente dalla raccolta di testi friuliani di Vincenzo Joppi (1878), si mostrerà come le peculiarità dei costrutti percettivi ladini siano dovute al loro carattere conservativo, ma anche a un'innovazione interna al ladino. Indigenous Research and Romantic Nationalism

In recent years, “indigenous research” and “indigenous methods” have become prominent themes in the general field of qualitative methodology. These ideas and their implications raise serious questions for the wider conduct of social research. We will outline some of those ideas, subjecting them to scrutiny, and ultimately using them to question the rise of Romanticism in contemporary social methodology. We develop these ideas to question the contemporary emphasis on the personal and the experiential in current methodological commentary.
