Atzīmējot botāniķa Paula Galenieka (1891-1962) 130 gadu jubileju par LU Muzeja 2021. gada februāra mēneša priekšmetu tika izvēlēts muzeja jaunieguvums profesora disertācija “Latvijas rozes”, kas tika aizstāvēta 1936. gadā. Rakstā sniegts ieskats par disertāciju un tās tapšanu.

This paper presents a theoretical description of the process-oriented research method in translation studies known as the think aloud method and a case study of an experimental application of think-aloud protocols (TAP). The article begins with a brief description of the relevance of its topic, taking into account the state of current researches in the field of translation studies. A literature review of recent publications where the think aloud method and think-aloud protocols as the principal introspective and retrospective method in different translation studies is given. Varieties of agencies during working life changes

The aim of this study is to shed light on the varieties of workers´ agencies in working life change situations, which is an under-researched topic in the literature of workplace learning and in working life studies. The research questions are what kinds of agencies there are to be found when workers encounter changes and how the different kinds of agencies are connected together. The understanding of agency is grounded on the subject-centered socio-cultural approach, whereas the methodological approach is based on applying life-course perspective on research material consisting of 48 working life narratives written by Finnish adults. Der Beitrag untersucht den Nürnberger Juristenprozess von 1947 in einer doppelten Perspektive: Einerseits wird der Schwerpunkt auf die unmittelbare Rezeption des Urteils in der Fachöffentlichkeit gelegt. Hauptquellen der Untersuchung sind dabei die damaligen Fachzeitschriften und Protokolle von Juristentagungen. Dieser Ansatz ermöglicht, durch eine differenzierte Analyse der Komplexität der damaligen Diskurse (wie im Fall des berühmten Aufsatzes Gustav Radbruchs zum Prozess) gerechter zu werden. Koblācija savu popularitāti iemantojusi ar vairākām priekšrocībām, salīdzinot to ar konvencionālo elektroķirurģiju, bet literatūra, kas apraksta tās ietekmi uz brūces parametriem ir ļoti limitēta. Diplomdarbs tika izstrādāts ar mērķi noteikt galvenās un nozīmīgākās atšķirības starp koblācijas veidotas brūces parametriem, izmantojot dažādas jaudas, elektrodus un enerģijas ģeneratorus. Brūces tika veidotas trīs atšķirīgos audos – nierē, mēlē un ādā. Pētījuma praktiskā daļa tika veikta sadarbībā ar MedTecResearch centru Vācijā un Rīgas Austrumu klīniskās universitātes slimnīcas Patoloģijas centru. Translation Process Research as Interaction Research: From Mental to Socio-Cognitive Processes

The main methodological approaches used in cognitive translation process research have hitherto been inspired by methods originally developed in the behavioural sciences, especially psychology. This article contends that mainstream experimental research in laboratory settings needs to be complemented with other methodological approaches such as qualitative, ethnographic research in order to be able to account for the situated, embedded and extended aspects of cognition – as described in current cognitive science approaches.
