In 1620, was named chief pilot of the Casa de Contratación de Sevilla Diego Ramírez de Arellano, author of a manuscript entitled Reconocimiento de los estrechos de Magallanes y San Vicente, con algunas cosas curiosas de navegación. He had participated in the reconnaissance mission referred by the title of the manuscript, and in that book developed same methods and tools for a nautical understood scientifically, and even used a methodology close to modern science, as in refuting the theory about Figueiredo of the linear relationship between longitude and magnetic variation of the needle navigation. This work aims to approach us the use of "mineral products" in medicine during 16<sup>th</sup> and 17<sup>th</sup> centuries. To have an idea about the use of minerals in daily practice, we have studied Juan Fragoso's <i>Libro de los medicamentos simples</i> (1581), and Juan Calvo's <i>Antidotario</i> (1580). We have also checked the presence of these substances in Dioscorides <i>Materia medica</i>, version of Andres Laguna, and the <i>Diccionario de Autoridades</i>. A Hebrew word, çoref, that appears 29 times in the Bible has been translated mistakenly by cervix in all its Latin editions starting from the Vulgata, and for «cerviz» or its equivalent ones in the modern languages. This work seeks to demonstrate that, in fact, such words have never been pronounced in its equivalent one Hebrew, since the çoref translation should be another.

A misprint originated in the first work of human anatomy written in Persian, Tashrih-i Mansuri, where the internal jugular (widach âçwar), is misnamed blind jugular, is the starting point of the remembrance of the names given to this vein throughout the centuries and gives forth some commentaries related with the need to consult many original documents when identifying a name in a manuscript.

This article commemorating the 500th anniversary of the birth of Teresa of Avila has two purposes: one, the presentation and analysis of a newly discovered poem composed in honor or Teresa of Avila in the French Carmelite convent of Saint-Denis (Paris) and two, a brief overview of recent scholarly work on French Carmelite poetry. It is proposed in the article that the poems of Teresa of Avila, not always considered important in their own right, should be re-considered and re-contextualized as foundational texts in a long tradition of Carmelite poetry that is both international and multilingual. Gennadios Scholarios and the Church of the Holy Apostles

The article tests the established view that Gennadios Scholarios, the first patriarch of Constantinople after the 1453 Conquest, used the church of the Holy Apostles in Constantinople as the seat of the Patriarchate for a few months in 1454 before moving to the building complex of the Pammakaristos monastery. After pointing out that all the sources that narrate the story of the installation of the Patriarchate in the famous Byzantine church date from the 16th century or later, the author examines sources contemporary with the events, including texts written by Scholarios himself. The Text of the Lord’s Prayer in Marcion’s Gospel

In text-critical studies of the Lukan version of the Lord’s Prayer (Lk 11,2-4), one of the most interesting, and at the same time most problematic, witnesses is Marcion’s Gospel. Scholarship for much of the twentieth century has generally followed the reconstruction of Adolf von Harnack in his magisterial work on Marcion: ... πάτeρ, (έλθάτω) τό άγιον πνeύμα (σου έφ’ ή μας και καθαρισάτω ημάς)* έλθάτω ή βασιλeία σου* τον άρτον σου τον έπιούσιον δίδου ήμίν τό καθ’ ημέραν, (και) άφeς ήμιν τάς άμαρτίας (ήμών) ...
