This paper discusses the use of the HamNoSys notation (Hamburg Notation System for Sign Languages) for the transcription of children’s signing. The notation system will be briefly described and some former descriptions of the acquisition of sign language phonology presented. The project in which HamNoSys was used is then described briefly followed by a description of the problems encountered while using the notation. Furthermore some proposals as to how to further develop the notation will be made. In conclusion the instrument can be said to be useful and, especially if revised, will be invaluable in further research.

This article reports on a therapeutic consultation session following the reflecting team working format. A stanza form of transcription of the original video recording is used to present the narrative constructions of the consultation process, and the transformation of these constructions. This method of transcription and analysis seeks to convey to the reader the dynamics of tellings and reformulations of the client's problem story as they emerged in the conversational exchanges between consultant and client, and between the members of the reflecting team. In this article, we deal with the so-called ‘risky sexual behaviours’ and the spread of HIV/AIDS among the community of MSM (men who have sex with other men). For a long time, both the sociological analysis and the medical and epidemiological approach studied the behaviour of the gay population as “inherently” more problematic in terms of spreading the human immunodeficiency virus. For these studies, even more dangerous are those men who sell sex and sexual services. Background: The hairdressing trade may potentially expose its practitioners and their customers to blood-borne infections. Methods: Knowledge, attitudes and behaviours towards occupational risk of HIV, HBV and HCV infections were evaluated in a cross-sectional survey, conducted during spring 2008, in 105 out of 112 randomly selected hairdressers of Palermo. Participants were queried by answering to an anonymous questionnaire. Abstract Strain IC203, deficient in the OxyR function, was sensitive to both cytotoxic and mutagenic effects of isoniazid (INH) whereas its parent, WP2 uvrA /pKM101, was resistant to these effects. Four other hydrazine compounds, hydrazine hydrate (HZH), phenylhydrazine (PHZ), hydralazine (HLZ) and nialamide (NLD), were mutagenic in WP2 uvrA /pKM101. Increases in mutagenicity were observed in IC203 for HZH and PHZ but not for HLZ and NLD. Growth inhibition zones by HZH, PHZ and NLD were larger in IC203 than in WP2 uvrA /pKM101. Subtelomeric terminal 6p deletion has been recognized as a clinically identifiable syndrome including facial dysmorphism, malformation of the anterior eye chamber, hearing loss, heart defect and developmental delay. Material and methods Observational study of heart transplant patients, performed during the first quarter of 2007.
