Human CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells: proteome analysis identifies galectin-10 as a novel marker essential for their anergy and suppressive function.

AbstractCD4+CD25+Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (CD25+ Treg cells) direct the maintenance of immunological self-tolerance by active suppression of autoaggressive T-cell populations. However, the molecules mediating the anergic state and regulatory function of CD25+ Treg cells are still elusive. Using differential proteomics, we identified galectin-10, a member of the lectin family, as constitutively expressed in human CD25+ Treg cells, while they are nearly absent in resting and activated CD4+ T cells. CaCwt1p is a Candida albicans putative transcriptional factor homologue to Rds2p in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The lack of this protein in S. cerevisiae leads to a pleiotropic resistance to drugs and defects in cell wall architecture that are also detectable in C. albicans. It is also known that CaCwt1p is mainly expressed in the stationary growth phase of this fungus. In order to elucidate the role of CWT1, transcriptome analysis of the mutant strain was performed in exponential and stationary growth phases. A Genomic, Transcriptomic and Proteomic Look at the GE2270 Producer Planobispora rosea, an Uncommon Actinomycete.

We report the genome sequence of Planobispora rosea ATCC 53733, a mycelium-forming soil-dweller belonging to one of the lesser studied genera of Actinobacteria and producing the thiopeptide GE2270. The P. rosea genome presents considerable convergence in gene organization and function with other members in the family Streptosporangiaceae, with a significant number (44%) of shared orthologs. Abstract Recent studies have expanded the appreciation of the roles of oxysterols triggering inflammatory, immune cytotoxic and apoptotic processes, but have not been considered for proteome analysis. Fumarate dependent protein composition under aerobic and anaerobic growth conditions in Escherichia coli

Abstract In the absence of sugars, C4-dicarboxylates (C4DC) like fumarate represent important substrates for growth of Escherichia coli. Aerobically, C4DCs are oxidized to CO2 whereas anaerobically, C4DCs are used for fumarate respiration. In order to determine the impact of fumarate under aerobic and anaerobic conditions, proteomes of E. coli W3110 grown aerobically or anaerobically with fumarate and/or the non-C4DC substrate glycerol were comparatively profiled by nanoLC-MS/MS. Integrated quantitative proteomic and transcriptomic analysis of lung tumor and control tissue: a lung cancer showcase

Proteomics analysis of paired cancer and control tissue can be applied to investigate pathological processes in tumors. Advancements in data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry allow for highly reproducible quantitative analysis of complex proteomic patterns.
