Effect of sodium to barium substitution on the space charge implementation in thermally poled glasses for nonlinear optical applications
2009
Thermally poled niobium borophosphate glasses in the system 0.55(0.95-y) NaPO{sub 3}+y/2 Ba(PO{sub 3}){sub 2}+0.05Na{sub 2}B{sub 4}O{sub 7})+0.45Nb{sub 2}O{sub 5} were investigated for second order optical nonlinear (SON) properties. Bulk glasses were studied by Raman spectroscopy, thermal analysis, optical and dielectric measurements. The sodium to barium substitution does not lead to significant changes in optical properties, crystallization of glasses and coordination environment of polarizable niobium atoms. However, the ionic conductivity decreases drastically with the increase of barium concentration. Secondary ion mass spectroscopy has been used to determine the element distribution …
Investigation on sol–gel synthesized Ag-doped TiO2 cermet thin films
2005
Abstract Undoped TiO 2 and Ag–TiO 2 (up to 23 at.% Ag) cermet thin films and polycrystalline powders have been prepared by sol–gel process. Their structure, composition, surface morphology and optical properties have been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential thermal analysis (DTA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) and ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV–VIS spectroscopy). It has been observed that while Ag does not form a solid solution with TiO 2 , it promotes the anatase to rutile phase transformation. The transformation temperature decreases from 827 °C for undoped TiO 2 to about 650 °C fo…

Biskup Würzburga Johann Philipp von Schönborn we francuskojęzycznej korespondencji Charlesa II i Jamesa II Stuartów z lat 1652-1673
2021
W planach politycznych uwzględniali go dyplomaci francuscy i habsburscy. O zainteresowaniu Anglików jego osobą świadczą listy Charlesa II i James…

Self-assembly of 3,5-bis(ethoxycarbonyl)pyrazolate anions and ammonium cations of β-phenylethylamine or homoveratrylamine into hetero-double-stranded…
2009
Hydrogen-bonded double-stranded hetero-helices are formed when reacting sodium 3,5-bis(ethoxycarbonyl)pyrazolate with beta-phenethylammonium or homoveratrylammonium chloride, in which one of the strands is defined by the ammonium cations and the other one by the pyrazolate anions.
Characterization of liver cytokeratin as a major target antigen of anti-SLA antibodies.
1990
Abstract Anti-SLA antibodies characterize a newly defined subgroup of patients with autoimmune chronic active hepatitis. The aim of the present study was the immunochemical characterization of the target antigen(s) of anti-SLA antibodies. Anti-SLA-positive sera were found to contain high titres of anti-cytokeratin antibodies. In immunoblotting analyses with 100 000 × g supernatants of human liver homogenates (S-100) these sera recognized various proteins with a molecular mass of 40–60 kDa. These proteins were also recognized by monoclonal anti-cytokeratin antibodies. Two-dimensional co-electrophoresis and immunoblotting analysis of S-100 and liver cytokeratins showed that anti-SLA antibodie…

The soluble dietary fiber inulin can influence the bioaccessibility of enniatins.
2012
Enniatins (ENs) are bioactive compounds produced by the secondary metabolism of several Fusarium strains and are known to have various biological activities, such as acting as enzyme inhibitors, antifungal antibacterial agents, and immunomodulatory substances. This study investigated the bioaccessibility of the ENs in wheat crispy breads produced with three different inulin concentrations (1, 5 and 10%). The mean bioaccessibility data of the four ENs (A, A(1), B and B(1)) ranged from 68.67% to 84.67 in the experiments carried out without inulin, whereas the data ranged from 51.00 to 74.00% in the experiments carried out with the wheat crispy bread produced with 5 and 10% of the inulin.
Polyclonal antibodies to mannan from yeast also recognize the carbohydrate structure of gp120 of the AIDS virus: an approach to raise neutralizing an…
1990
This study initiates a new method of developing an antigen which might be useful in the prevention of HIV-1 infection. Using a mannan preparation from Saccharomyces cerevisiae neutralizing antiserum was raised in rabbits which prevents HIV-1 infection in vitro up to a titre of 1:128. The corresponding antibody preparation neutralized the in vitro infectivity down to a concentration of 5 micrograms/ml. Analytical studies suggest that the antibodies are directed against the mannose residues of the HIV-1 glycoprotein (gp) 120 and its precursor gp 160.
