Étienne Destot (1864–1918) : l’anatomie radiographique
2014
Destot was born in Dijon, France, in 1864. He began his education in Burgundy, then he started his preclinical curriculum in Lyon, France, from 1884. He had to leave Lyon, and spent some times in Algeria to treat a tuberculosis. He came back in Lyon as a resident in 1886. Destot worked as an assistant in the laboratory of anatomy of Leo Testut in 1880. His thesis, in 1892, analyzed mortality in the departments of surgery of the Lyon hospitals. The polemical results he presented compromised his surgical career. He went on as prosector by Leo Testut, and then became electrician-physician in 1895 (electrotherapy and galvanotherapy). Etienne Destot of Lyon, France, developed in 1895 the first r…
Cohort profile: Thrombolysis in Ischemic Stroke Patients (TRISP): a multicentre research collaboration
2018

Increasing Role of Services : Trends, Drivers and Search for New Perspectives
2019
Increasing role of services is often described as tertiarization of the economy, that is, the increased share of the services sector employment and value added. In business and engineering sciences the same phenomena are investigated at the level of company operations, value networks as well as system innovations and system-level transitions. What was described as a service economy in fifty or twenty years ago, are not the same ideas of a service economy that are investigated today. This chapter provides a broad overview on the increasing role of services: how this phenomenon has been addressed in different fields, including the forestbased sector research. Taking the observation from the r…

The model of governance of the professional football sector in Italy: a critical analysis
2012
The current model of governance of football in Italy has been formally followed by the clubs, but does not effectively address the manifestation of problems such as illegal betting or match fixing. By proposing a taxonomy of pathologies to which professional football is exposed, we highlight some gaps for the identification of tools and procedures useful for the reorientation of club management towards the satisfaction of sporting, economic, social and communicative dimensions.

‘Health in All Policies’ and the Urge for Coordination: The Work of Public Health Coordinators and Their Impact and Influence in Local Public Health …
2022
Building heavily on the Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach, Norway implemented the Public Health Act in 2012 to reduce social inequalities in health. Local public health coordinators (PHCs) at municipal levels were seen as tools to provide local intersectoral public health work. In this study, we examine factors related to intersectoral agency and if intersectoral work is understood as relevant to securing social justice in local policy outcomes. A national web-based survey in 2019 of all Norwegian PHCs (n = 428) was conducted with a response rate of 60%. Data were analysed through multiple linear regression, hierarchical regression modelling and structural equation modelling. Neither f…
The PROMISE study protocol: a multicenter prospective study of process optimization with interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral care for German patient…
2021
Background and purpose — Knee and hip replacement are common and increasing procedures, and an optimized care process that could be implemented in different settings would be useful. Patients and methods — This multi-center prospective mixed-method study includes 2,000 German patients receiving arthritis-related hip or knee endoprostheses. An interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral care process was developed and implemented in 3 German hospitals with different levels of care, and corresponding rehabilitation centers were included t…
