This paper summarizes recent research on the stereospecific analysis of amphetamine, its analogs and metabolites, by liquid chromatography. The different methods proposed have been evaluated and compared in terms of resolution power, time of analysis, sensitivity, or potential for automation. Chiral derivatization, followed by separation of the diastereomers formed in achiral chromatographic systems, is still the method preferred for the analysis of amphetamines at trace levels, as derivatization also improves analyte detectability. Background This study aimed to compare the facial profile attractiveness of Class III borderline patients after surgical or compensatory orthodontic treatment. Detection of the synthetic drug 4-fluoroamphetamine (4-FA) in serum and urine.

Abstract 4-Fluoroamphetamine (4-FA) was detected in the blood and urine of two individuals suspected for driving under the influence (DUI). The test for amphetamines in urine subjected to immunoassay screening using the CEDIA DAU assay proved positive. Further investigations revealed a 4-FA cross-reactivity of about 6% in the CEDIA amphetamine assay. 4-FA was qualitatively detected in a general unknown screening for drugs using GC/MS in full scan mode. No other drugs or fluorinated phenethylamines were detected. Both qualitative and quantitative observations confirm the suitability of the recent theoretical developments (Zolezzi & Seminara 2001) that indicate the occurrence of two distinct regimes of morphodynamic influence, depending on the value of the width ratio of the channel β. Between the idea and the construction of the architecture the drawing plays a central role to connect the different protagonists of a project. It involves the community by envisaging unprecedented perspectives. Writing is useful to explicit the graphics and establish a new order in the design reasoning. The relationships between signs and meanings multiply in recent information systems in which it seems possible to conclude a lot (thanks to numerical and spatial data) but sometimes a synthesis is missing though that synthesis is fundamental to create new physical experiences. For the exploration of the use of different architectural languages and for the push towards the project rather than a sterile cataloging the case of the Piano Programma for the historic center of Palermo (Giuseppe Samonà Giancarlo De Carlo Umberto Di Cristina Anna Maria Sciarra Borzí 1979-82) reveals to be ambitious. Giuseppe Samonà integrates the classical representation based on Monge's projections with photographs and iconic drawings associating signs with a linguistic-structural communication capable of expressing the relationships between the parts at the basis of a morphological approach to the plan. The graphic story ("second language") of the urban fabric has creative implications expressed by images and annotations ("first language") useful for decoding them. Since the plan focuses on the potential of a storytelling that orients the imagination of its readers (designers citizens politicians) it can contribute to the study titled "B4R– BRANDING 4 RESILIENCE - Tourist infrastructure as a tool to enhance small villages by drawing resilient communities and new open habitats” as a starting point for the mapping in which GIS analysis and multidisciplinary data (geometric topological and quantitative) relating to some villages of the internal Sicily shall translate into a new architectural urban and landscape quality.Settore ICAR/14 - Composizione Architettonica E Urbana

DNA image cytometry in stomach carcinoma. Its relation to histomorphologic parameters and its influence on prognosis

BACKGROUND The influence of DNA content on the prognosis in stomach cancer is controversial. METHOD After curative resection of stomach carcinomas (adenocarcinomas [n = 58]; signet ring cell carcinomas [n = 24]; undifferentiated carcinomas [n = 21]), the influence of the DNA content and histomorphologic parameters on the prognosis was examined. RESULTS In the multivariate regression analysis, the prognosis depended on the lymph node status (P = 0.0009), pT stage (P = 0.02), tumor localization (P = 0.03), and histologic type (P = 0.05).
