Mapping intra-plot topsoil diversity of Burgundy vineyards (Aloxe- Corton, France) from very high spatial resolution (VHSR) images
2012
International audience; In this work, we present a method based on very high spatial resolution (VHSR) aerial images acquired in the visible domain and that map soil surface diversity at the hillslope scale with a spatial resolution of a few centimeters. This method combines aerial VHSR image classification with local soil sampling. Principal component analysis (PCA) and non-supervised classification was performed on image characteristics to define soil surface characteristic classes (SSC). Then soil surface mapping was combined with soil surface descriptions and soil profiles to define soil types by physical and chemical characteristics.
Task-specific ionic liquid for the depolymerisation of starch-based industrial waste into high reducing sugars
2014
Development of a simple route for the catalytic conversion of starch-based industrial waste (potato peels) and potato starch into reducing sugars was investigated in two ionic liquids for comparison – 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride [AMIM]Cl and 1-(4-sulfobutyl)-3-methylimidazolium chloride [SBMIM]Cl. Over a two hour period, a 20 wt% solution containing up to 43% and 98% of reducing sugars at low temperature in aqueous [SBMIM]Cl was achieved for the starch-based waste and the potato starch, respectively. In addition, the use of microwave and low frequency ultrasound to perform the depolymerisation of the raw starch-based material was explored and compared with conventional heating proc…
Emulsion-based systems for fabrication of electrospun nanofibers: food, pharmaceutical and biomedical applications
2017
International audience; Electrospinning is considered a promising technology for fabricating ultrafine fibers via the application of electrostatic repulsive forces. Electrospun nanofibers produced via emulsion electrospinning are widely used as delivery systems to encapsulate bioactive compounds and drugs in food and pharmaceuticals, respectively. Emulsion electrospinning has also gained significant interest for the production of vehicles for sustained and controlled release. There are several parameters affecting the properties of fabricated fibers including the type of emulsion, emulsion composition, electric field strength, conductivity of solution, surface tension, electrode configurati…
Synchronie entre l'offre et la demande dans le cycle des nutriments: apprendre des écosystèmes naturels pour construire des agrosystèmes durables
2023
Redesigning agrosystems with more ecological regulations can help feed a growing population, preserve soils for future productivity and reduce environmental impacts. However, guidelines for redesigning agrosystems from natural systems are limited. Reviewing the last knowledge of ecosystem functioning, we outlined four ecological systems synchronizing the supply of soluble nutrients by soil biota to fluctuating plant nutrient demand. This synchrony limits deficiencies and excesses of soluble nutrient, which usually penalize both production and regulating services of agrosystems such as nutrient retention and soil carbon storage. We detail how ecological systems promoting synchrony can be ins…
Pd-Cu catalysts supported on anion exchange resin for the simultaneous catalytic reduction of nitrate ions and reductive dehalogenation of organochlo…
2019
International audience; The present work proposes the simultaneous removal of these classes of pollutants by a catalytic hydrotreatment processes. For this purpose, bimetallic Pd-Cu catalysts (with mass ratio Pd:Cu of 4:1) supported on macroporous strong base anion resin were prepared by different methods. The catalysts were characterized (by XRD, SEMEDX, XPS, AAS and H-2 chemisorption) and tested in a continuous flow system. The selected catalyst preparation protocol consists in a two-step method, which implies the deposition of palladium by ion exchange and the subsequent deposition of copper by controlled reaction on the surface of the pre-reduced palladium. The effectiveness of the cata…
Mapping soil and substratum at a very high spatial resolution in the hillslope of Couchey (France)

Le droit d'absoudre. Concurrences juridictionnelles et communication des fors (v. 1130-v. 1320)
2015
The absolution "reservation" which entitles the Supreme Pontiff to keep to himself the right to lift some excommunications, appeared in 1130. After being at first associated with "sacrilege" and "lèse-majesté", it became one of the main instruments of Pontifical plenitudo potestatis. Western bishops then strove to redefine their scope of action by using the same instrument : the episcopal reservation and penitentiary thus made their appearance during the first quarter of the 13th century. However, the French, English and Italian Synod statutes revealed the ambiguity of this episcopal reservation and opened new perspectives on the history of "forums". At the end of the 13th century, it appea…
