Dialogical patterns of interaction in pre-school classrooms

Abstract The present study set out to identify and examine dialogic educational interactions in Finnish pre-school classrooms. Video recordings of five observed pre-school classrooms that had shown a high or moderate quality of instructional support in literacy, maths and science studies were transcribed for micro-scale qualitative content analysis. Este artículo analiza los conflictos por los recursos agua y tierra en Cerro de San Pedro, México, cuando una empresa minera canadiense inició una mina a cielo abierto en este municipio. Examinamos diferentes posiciones en el conflicto entre la mina de oro y los habitantes locales, y cómo ambivalentes regulaciones nacionales y organismos gubernamentales permitieron que una empresa extranjera operara sin los permisos requeridos. The contribution of geographical certification programs to farm income and rural economies: The case of Pecorino Siciliano PDO

This study attempts to measure the capacity of the EU geographical certification scheme to positively influence the price of certified products and the incomes of their producers. A comparison of the economic results of two cheese-producing dairy farm enterprises with different business strategies and locations within the Sicilian hinterlands is performed in order to determine the transformation value of each dairy’s sheep milk into pecorino cheese (with and without the Protected Designation of Origin, or PDO, certification) and the related joint products (ricotta). Laser-Generated Acoustic Signal Interaction with Surface Flaws on Rail Wheels

Long- and short-range acoustic-signal interaction with surface-breaking cracks and geometric boundaries of the rail-wheel tread area are presented in this article. Ultrasonic signals are generated using a laser-line source of varying length and distance from a crack and are detected with a 1-MHz contact transducer to map the sound field behind the crack in the near, intermediate, and far fields of the insonified region. The factors that affect the behavior of a laser-generated surface acoustic wave propagating along the tread area of a rail wheel are discussed. High pressure structure of Tb2Ti2O7 pyrochlore at cryogenic temperatures

The structure of Th 2 Ti 2 O 7 pyrochlore was investigated at high pressures up to 24 GPa at cryogenic temperatures down to 6.5 K using angular dispersive X-ray diffraction with synchrotron radiation at HPCAT, Advanced Photon Source. The cell parameters were obtained by performing full profile Rietveld refinements of the diffraction data. The equation of state is obtained at low temperatures by fitting the pressure-volume data to a second order Birch Murnaghan eqation and a bulk modulus value of 168(4) GPa is obtained. The results show persistance of the pyrochlore structure up to the maximum pressure studied in the experiment and further indicate that pressure induces solely magnetic order…

Abstract In various experiments it has been demonstrated that the circular dichroism in the angular distribution of photoelectrons (CDAD) is not only observed from oriented initial states (aligned adsorbed molecules or magnetised samples), but also arises as a consequence of the scattering of photoelectrons from the surrounding atoms in a solid or an adsorbate. In this work we will show first measurements performed at the SGM beamline of the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Source (LNLS) on a (4×1) superstructure of 1 ML RbO adsorbed on Pt(111). The main idea of this paper is, bearing in mind the property referred to in the above paragraph, to describe a novel spatial filtering technique. In this way, one can obtain different filtered images, by simply moving the point source along the optical axis. The basic theory is described below.
