Soret emission from water-soluble porphyrin thin films: effect on the electroluminescence response

The emission properties of TSPP [tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl) porphyrin] and TMPyP [tetrakis(4-methylpyridyl) porphyrin] in thin films, prepared both by the Langmuir–Blodgett technique and the spin-coating method, have been investigated. Surprisingly, in most of the samples analyzed, the emission spectra do not show the usual two bands typical of porphyrins (in the region 650–750 nm), and depend strongly on the excitation energy. The origin of a new emission band detected at ∼480–500 nm is discussed in terms of the nature of the porphyrin aggregates. Visible light photocatalytic activity of macro-mesoporous TiO2-CeO2inverse opals

Macro-mesoporous TiO2 inverse opal materials were synthesized and they were tested as photocatalysts under visible light irradiation. The influence of cerium oxide addition towards the Rhodamine B (RhB) photodegradation activity was evaluated. Structural, textural, spectral and surface properties of the TiO2-CeO2 inverse opal nanocomposites were studied by XRD, XPS, SEM, TEM, N2 adsorption-desorption, Diffuse Reflectance UV–vis and Photoluminescence spectroscopies. The present study reports on a simple preparation strategy of a hybrid catalyst, TiO2/HKUST-1, containing TiO2 anatase nanoparticles (NPs) with tailored morphology and photocatalytic activity coupled with a porous metal-organic framework (MOF), namely HKUST-1, as an advanced material for the CO2 photocatalytic reduction. In detail, TiO2/HKUST-1 catalyst was prepared via an easy slow-diffusion method combined with a step-by-step self-assembly at room temperature. Abstract Ultrafine nitrogen-doped TiO 2 nanoparticles with narrow particle size distribution, good dispersion, and high surface area were synthesized in the presence of urea and PEG-4000 via a hydrothermal procedure. TEM observation, N 2 adsorption, XRD, UV–vis spectroscopy, the Raman spectroscopy and XPS analysis were conducted to characterize the synthesized TiO 2 particles. The synthesized TiO 2 particles were a mixture of 49.5% anatase and 50.5% rutile with a size of around 5 nm. Vγ9Vδ2 T lymphocytes recognize nonpeptidic antigens without presentation by MHC molecules and display pleiotropic features. Here we report that coculture of Vγ9Vδ2 cells with phosphoantigen and IL-21 leads to selective expression of the transcription repressor Bcl-6 and polarization toward a lymphocyte subset displaying features of follicular B-helper T (T(FH)) cells. T(FH) like Vγ9Vδ2 cells have a predominant central memory (CD27(+)CD45RA(-)) phenotype and express ICOS, CD40L and CXCR5. Upon antigen activation, they secrete IL-4, IL-10 and CXCL13, and provide B-cell help for antibody production in vitro. Accurate, short-term predictions of Earth orientation parameters (EOP) are needed for many real-time applications including precise tracking and navigation of interplanetary spacecraft, climate forecasting, and disaster prevention. Abstract The discrete mixed [TeBrxCl6−x]2− anions in their disordered crystal structures have been identified by using the phases prepared by the reaction of 1-butyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium halogenides (bdmim)X with tellurium tetrahalogenides TeX4 (X = Cl, Br) as examples. Homoleptic (bdmim)2[TeX6] [X = Cl (1), Br (2)] and mixed (bdmim)2[TeBr2Cl4] (3), and (bdmim)2[TeBr4Cl2] (4) are formed depending on the choice of the reagents, and their crystal structures have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
