Identity construction in ELF contexts: a case study of Finnish engineering students working in Germany

This paper explores connections between identity and language use in lingua franca contexts by investigating identity construction among Finnish users of English as revealed in interviews conducted both before and after a period spent in Germany. The focus is on the users' own stories of their language use and learning, and on the discursive construction of identities. The study draws on poststructuralist theories of identity construction, combining them with research that focuses on language learners' identity construction or on identity issues in contexts with English as a lingua franca. ISDS (investor-state dispute settlement, znany także jako ICS - investment court system) to umowny mechanizm rozstrzygania sporów między inwestorem a państwem. Polega on na możliwości zaskarżenia państwa przez przedsiębiorcę (inwestora) do arbitrażu wówczas, gdy państwo wydaje lub wykorzystuje przepisy ograniczające zyski przedsiębiorstwa (praktyki dyskryminujące). Praca prezentuje w pierwszej kolejności zagadnienia związane z pojęciem umowy franczyzy jako empirycznym typem umowy, jak i teoretyczne zagadnienie problematyki umów nienazwanych. W kontekście treści stosunku prawnego franczyzy zwrócono uwagę na dwie kwestie. Po pierwsze, pomimo braku regulacji umowy franczyzy w polskim prawie cywilnym wpływ na treść stosunku prawnego franczyzy mają przepisy prawa publicznego z zakresu ochrony konkurencji (prawa antymonopolowego). Formation of superstructures in protein aggregation processes has been indicated as a general pathway for several proteins, possibly playing a role in human pathologies. There is a severe lack of knowledge on the origin of such species in terms of both mechanisms of formation and structural features. We use equine lysozyme as a model protein, and by combining spectroscopic techniques and microscopy with X-ray fiber diffraction and ab initio modeling of Small Angle X-ray Scattering data, we isolate the partially unfolded state from which one of these superstructures (i.e., particulate) originates.
