Study of voltage decrease in organic light emitting diodes during the initial stage of lifetime

Abstract We report the results of lifetime DC testing at constant current of not-encapsulated organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on Tris (8 idroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq3) as emitting material. In particular, a voltage decrease during the initial stage of the lifetime test is observed. The cause of this behavior is also discussed, mainly linked to initial Joule self-heating of the device, rising its temperature above room temperature until thermal equilibrium is reached at steady state.

Determination of Diffusion Parameters by a Computer Code (FDP) Based on Mathematica 6.0

A computer code named Fitting for Diffusion Parameters (FDP) based on Mathematica 6.0 has been developed for modeling through- and out-diffusion experiments. FDP was used to determine the diffusion coefficients (De ) and the rock capacity factors (α) for tritiated water (HTO) and 22 Na+ and the distribution coefficient (Kd ) of 22 Na+ in Opalinus Clay (OPA). The values for De and α were obtained by fitting the results of experimental data of both transient and steady-state phases to the analytical solution of accumulated activity. AbstractCationic amino acid transporters play an important role in the intracellular supply of l-Arg and the generation of nitric oxide. Since the transport of l-Arg is voltage-dependent, we aimed at determining the intracellular l-Arg concentration and describing the transport of l-Arg in terms of Michaelis–Menten kinetics, taking into account membrane voltage. The effects of the phenylalkylamines verapamil (V), gallopamil (G), and devapamil (D) and their corresponding quaternary derivatives on the transient outward current (Ito) were examined in rat ventricular cardiomyocytes using the whole-cell patch-clamp technique. The question was addressed, whether phenylalkylamines act on Ito from the inside or the outside or from both sides of the cell membrane. γ-ray-induced bleaching in silica: Conversion from optical to paramagnetic defects

We report experimental results on optical and ESR measurements performed in $\ensuremath{\gamma}$-irradiated natural silica samples having different content of OH groups. A partial bleaching of the optical absorption band ${B}_{2\ensuremath{\beta}}$ at 5.15 eV and the related photoluminescence emissions at 3.1 eV and 4.2 eV is observed together with the growth of an ESR doublet split by 11.8 mT. The kinetics of the two processes as a function of the $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ dose are correlated and depend on the OH content. Time-resolved, pulsed excitation methods are widely used to deduce optoelectronic properties of semiconductors, including now also Halide Perovskites (HaPs), especially transport properties. Unter standardisierten Bedingungen wurden in vivo die O2-Drucke \(\left( {P_{{\text{0}}_{\text{2}} } } \right)\) in gewebsisolierten Impftumoren (DS-Carcinosarkom) der Rattenniere sowie zum Vergleich in den Nierenrinden gesunder Ratten gemessen. Fur die polarographische \(P_{{\text{0}}_{\text{2}} } \)-Messung im Gewebe fanden Gold-Mikroelektroden mit einem Spitzendurchmesser von 3–8 μm und einem Durchmesser der Goldkathode von 1 μm Verwendung. Bei kontinuierlichem oder diskontinuierlichem Vorschub der Elektrode wurden die \(P_{{\text{0}}_{\text{2}} } \)-Verteilungen in 9 Tumoren (37 Stichkanale, 3579 Einzelmessungen) und 3 Nierenrinden (14 Stichkanale, 2974 Einzelmessungen) ermittelt.

Kadanoff-Baym approach to quantum transport through interacting nanoscale systems: from the transient to the steady-state regime

We propose a time-dependent many-body approach to study the short-time dynamics of correlated electrons in quantum transport through nanoscale systems contacted to metallic leads. This approach is based on the time-propagation of the Kadanoff-Baym equations for the nonequilibrium many-body Green's function of open and interacting systems out of equilibrium. An important feature of the method is that it takes full account of electronic correlations and embedding effects in the presence of time-dependent external fields, while at the same time satisfying the charge conservation law.
