Brugada syndrome (BrS) was first described in 1992 as an aberrant pattern of ST segment elevation in right precordial leads with a high incidence of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in patients with structurally normal heart. It represents 4% ∼ 12% of all SCD and 20% of SCD in patients with structurally normal heart. The extremely wide genetic heterogeneity of BrS and other inherited cardiac disorders makes this new area of genetic arrhytmology a fascinating one. Abstract Sacubitril/valsartan has been shown to reduce cardiovascular mortality and hospitalizations in patients with HFrEF when compared to enalapril. There are also some evidences of its potential antiarrhythmic effects. We present a report where we found a relation between reverse ventricular remodeling and arrhythmic reduction in a patient treated with sacubitril/valsartan.

Plant pigments are responsible for the shining color of plant tissues. They are also found in animal tissues and, eventually in transformed food products as additives. These pigments have an important impact on the commercial value of products, because the colors establish the first contact with the consumer. In addition plant pigments may have an influence on the health of the consumers. Pigments are labile: they can be easily altered, and even destroyed. Analytical processes have been developed to determine pigment composition. The aim of this paper is to provide a brief overview of these methods.

Tetrachlorobenzenes represent one of the best known, but not yet fully understood, group of isomers of the structure–melting point relationship. The differences in melting temperatures of these structurally related compounds were rationalized in terms of the hierarchy and nature of formed noncovalent interactions, and the molecular aggregation that is influenced by molecular symmetry. The highest melting point is associated with the highly symmetric 1,2,4,5-tetrachlorobenzene isomer. Sorption of V and VI group metalloids (As, Sb, Te) on modified peat sorbents

AbstractThe present work investigates arsenic, antimony and tellurium sorption using iron modified peat. The results were obtained using batch tests and the sorption was studied as a function of initial metalloid concentration, pH and sorption time, as well as the presence of competing substances. The obtained results indicate that modification of peat with Fe compounds significantly enhances the sorption capacity of the sorbents used for sorption of arsenic, antimony and tellurium. The optimal pH interval for the sorption of Sb(III) is 6.5–9 and for As(V) and Sb(V) – 3–6, while As(III) and tellurium sorption using Fe-modified peat is favourable in a wider interval of 3–9. Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) are ectopic lymphoid aggregates located at sites of chronic inflammation and recognized as prognosticators in several cancers. We aimed to analyse the prognostic effect of TLSs in colorectal cancer (CRC) pulmonary metastases and primary tumours, with a comparison to the CD3+ and CD8+ cell density-based immune cell score (ICS). For TLS density and TLS maximum diameter analysis, 67 pulmonary metastases and 63 primary tumours were stained with haematoxylin and eosin.
