The cross-sectional study has been based on the implementation of the Obstetric Appropriateness Evaluation Protocol (OAEP) in seven hospitals to determine inappropriate hospital admissions and days of stay. The outcomes were: inappropriateness of admission and "percentage of inappropriateness" for one hospitalization. A total number of 2196 clinical records were reviewed. The mean percentage of inappropriateness for hospitalization was 22%. The percentage of inappropriateness for the first 10 d of hospitalization peaked in correspondence of the fourth (42%). Se realizó un estudio cuasi-experimental con el propósito de analizar los efectos de un programa de entrenamiento de 4 semanas de duración para la mejora del pase en el fútbol a partir de la formulación progresiva de objetivos basados en la creación de esquemas mentales, y la aplicación de la técnica de moldeamiento mediante el feedback aportado a los jugadores. Although many studies endorse the notion that the way students perceive support influences their engagement, very few have explored the possible mediator role of intention to learn between these variables. The present work provides new evidence to the existing literature because it analyses the work of intention to learn (measured with expectancy–value beliefs and achievement goals) as a mediating motivational variable in the relation between university students’ external support (teacher and family) and their engagement. This paper relates an experience carried out at a higher education setting, specifically involving 3rd-year students in the Early Childhood Education degree programme. In relation to this, the paper presents an educational model that takes into account the need to develop ethical and social competences and gives importance to interdisciplinary education in real contexts. La experiencia que presentamos aquí se llevó a cabo durante el curso 2018-2019 en las clases prácticas de la asignatura Metodología Arqueológica (tercer curso del grado de Historia). El objetivo de aprendizaje principal de las clases prácticas de esta asignatura se focaliza en que el alumnado se familiarice con las herramientas básicas de los Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) que le permitan resolver problemas de naturaleza arqueológica.
