CRISPR-Cas12a-Based Detection of SARS-CoV-2 Harboring the E484K Mutation

The novel respiratory virus SARS-CoV-2 is rapidly evolving across the world with the potential of increasing its transmission and the induced disease. Here, we applied the CRISPR-Cas12a system to detect, without the need of sequencing, SARS-CoV-2 genomes harboring the E484K mutation, first identified in the Beta variant and catalogued as an escape mutation. The E484K mutation creates a canonical protospacer adjacent motif for Cas12a recognition in the resulting DNA amplicon, which was exploited to obtain a differential readout. Study of new joining technique: flat clinching

In this paper a development of clinching, called flat clinching, is presented. After a press clinching process, the joined sheets have been deformed by a punch with a lower diameter against a flat die. In this way a new configuration is created with a geometry that has no discontinuity on the external surface (bottom). A new procedure has also been tested: the second step is perfomed by pressing the joint between two flat dies. The lateral lines of a drip irrigation system consist of pressurized pipelines with inline or online emitters. Proper hydraulic design of drip laterals usually requires the accurate evaluation of the total head losses, represented by friction losses along the pipe and the emitters, and local losses due to the emitter connections. The accurate design of drip irrigation laterals needs to consider the variation of hydraulic head due to pipe elevation changes, head losses along the lines, and also, at a given operating pressure, emitter discharge variations related to manufacturing variability, clogging, and water temperature. Influence of the porosity profile and sets of Ergun constants on the main hydrodynamic parameters in the trickle-bed reactors

Abstract The Eulerian multiphase code has been applied for the comparative simulation of the experimental results obtained for varying flow rates of both fluid phases and for systems of various physicochemical properties used in the laboratory trickle-bed reactor (TBR). Abstract An enormous number of empirical papers have estimated technical efficiency, the distance of firms inside a frontier, following the model of Farrell (Farrell, 1957.
