How is it possible to regard something that is not prohibited, as illegal? What are the resulting consequences of fact and law? This chapter suggests that a reasonable way to reconcile these two assertions is to admit that they refer to two profiles of the phenomenon in question that must be kept separate. Independence is not prohibited, but not all means to reach it are allowed under general international law. To render this concept, the author submits the idea of a normative "due process" seen as a set of rules giving no legal entitlement to statehood nor determining the creation of a State, but forming a normative course through which factual processes should be legally channelled. This article provides a first concept of typographic identity in film and the impact of audiovisual translation on it. Based on an analysis of 52 films, relevant text elements and their graphical translation strategies in film were identified. Finally, possible shortcomings and challenges such as collisions and the impact on a film’s typographic identity and image composition are discussed as a first basis for further studies
Joint planning in conversations with a person with aphasia

Abstract This study explores practices employed by a person with aphasia (PWA) and his wife to organize joint planning sequences and negotiate deontic rights (a participants' entitlement to initiate planning sequences and the entitlement to accept or reject a plan). We analyze two different conversations between a man with aphasia and his wife and their adult daughter. Using Conversation Analysis (CA), we identify practices that further the PWA's participation in the interaction while planning afternoon activities together with his wife. This work presents a continuum of competence. On one extreme of which there is a subtlety of concept of competence. On the other, there are rigorous econometric analyses to find the answer to a critical question: ―to what extent is the assessment of competence reliable? ‖ Quest into the etymology helped us providing a rationale in favour of the preferred use of competence over competency. Diplomdarba mērķis bija izpētīt, kā video materiālu ar angļu subtitriem pielietošana var palielināt lasīšanas ātrumu un izpratni 11. klasē. Pētījuma metode bija gadījuma pētījums ar 12 skolēnu izlasi. Datu vākšanas gaitā tika veikti skolēnu lasīšanas ātruma un izpratnes mērījumi, ievāktas atgriezeniskās saites anketas un veiktas daļēji strukturētas intervijas ar divām skolotājām.
