Copper( ii ) complexes with phosphorylated 1,10-phenanthrolines: from molecules to infinite supramolecular arrays

2016

International audience; The reaction of phosphorylated 1,10-phenanthrolines 3-Pphen, 3,8-Pphen and 4,7-Pphen (3-Pphen = 3-diethoxyphosphorylphenanthroline, 3,8-Pphen = 3,8-bis(diethoxyphosphoryl) phenanthroline, 4,7-Pphen = 4,7-bis(diethoxyphosphoryl) phenanthroline) and hydrated copper(II) nitrate in a 1 : 1 ratio leads to the formation of supramolecular architectures. In the 1D coordination polymer [Cu(3-Pphen)(NO3)(2)](n) (2) the copper atom is coordinated to only one phenanthroline ligand and the coordination sphere is completed by two oxygen atoms of nitrate anions and the oxygen atom of the phosphoryl group from the neighbouring phenanthroline ligand. Complex Cu(3,8-Pphen)(NO3)(2) (3)…

Il sé in gruppo e nell'ambiente ospitante. Un'analisi contestuale dell'esperienza di viaggio.

2012

With regard to a trip model articulated in contextual terms, the research proposes to trace the different expressive ways of some travellers in relationship to the places of which they had experience, with the purpose to emphasize the more stable personal learnings. The investigation moves from the administration of a semi-structured interview to 14 travellers, then analyzed through the IPA (Smith, Osborn 2003) and the CCRT (Luborsky, Crits-Christoph, 1990). The thematic picture sprung by the analysis has been prepared in topological terms, so that to furnish a comparison of reflections of consulted subjects compared to the groups of trip, to the entertaining environment and to themselves. …

Application of Silsesquioxanes in the Preparation of Polyolefin-Based Materials

2023

This paper is a review of studies on the use of the polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) of various structures in the synthesis of polyolefins and the modification of their properties, namely: (1) components of organometallic catalytic systems for the polymerization of olefins, (2) comonomers in the copolymerization with ethylene, and (3) fillers in composites based on polyolefins. In addition, studies on the use of new silicon compounds, i.e., siloxane–silsesquioxane resins, as fillers for composites based on polyolefins are presented. The authors dedicate this paper to Professor Bogdan Marciniec on the occasion of his jubilee.

Demographic inequalities as determinants and consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in Latvia

2021

Since early March 2020 Latvia is fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Lessons learned from this crisis will be instrumental in shaping future public health policy. Any policy response to the pandemic must be tailored to the particular risks within population in order to avoid the unnecessary social and economic damage on a national and international scale. Available literature on the topic highlights region-specific demographic factors associated with elevated population vulnerability to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to ascertain the role of a pre-existing demographic inequalities in Latvia in the onset and progression of COVID-19 pandemic and lay groundwork for projectin…

A strong electroweak phase transition from the inflaton field

2016

We study a singlet scalar extension of the Standard Model. The singlet scalar is coupled non-minimally to gravity and assumed to drive inflation, and also couple sufficiently strongly with the SM Higgs field in order to provide for a strong first order electroweak phase transition. Requiring the model to describe inflation successfully, be compatible with the LHC data, and yield a strong first order electroweak phase transition, we identify the regions of the parameter space where the model is viable. We also include a singlet fermion with scalar coupling to the singlet scalar to probe the sensitivity of the constraints on additional degrees of freedom and their couplings in the singlet sec…

North/south differences among Italian emerging adults regarding criteria deemed important for adulthood and life satisfaction

2016

The main goal of this study was to compare Northern and Southern Italian emerging adult university students, regarding the importance attributed to criteria for adulthood and the levels of life and education satisfaction. Self-report questionnaires were filled by 475 Northern and Southern Italian University students (Age M = 22.91, 76% females, n = 359). Multivariate analysis of variance revealed that Southern emerging adults were more likely to place importance on family capacities, norm compliance, interdependence and role transitions as criteria for achieving adulthood than Northern emerging adults. Regarding gender differences, females were more likely to believe in the importance of no…

ISSP position stand : Transnationalism, mobility, and acculturation in and through sport

2017

The historically unprecedented pace of internationalising sport industry and transnational movement of athletic talent in the last 20 years has heightened the need for developing new competencies in research and daily practice of sport psychology professionals. While academic literature in cultural sport psychology and praxis has been increasing, sport professionals and local organisations seem to give scant time and resources to stay abreast of complex social changes in transnational industry and to the development of cultural competencies. Stemming from the continuing need for qualified athletic personnel to support transitioning athletes and to achieve intercultural effectiveness in dail…

Crystal structure and magnetic properties of (tris{4-[1-(2-methoxyethyl)imidazol-2-yl]-3-azabut-3-enyl}amine)iron(II) bis(hexafluoridophosph…

2019

The title compound, [Fe(C27H41N10O3)](PF6)2, is an example of an iron(II) spin-crossover compound. In this compound, C⋯F and CH⋯F/O contacts, present between the cations and anions, extend the structure into a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

Crystal structure of bis-(azido-κN)bis[2,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thia-diazole-κ(2) N (2),N (3)]cobalt(II).

2015

The structure of the title compound is isotypic with that of the analogous nickel(II) complex, in which the CoN6 core shows an axially weakly compressed octahedral geometry as opposed to the almost regular geometry exhibited by the NiN6 octahedron.

High-Pressure Properties of Wolframite-Type ScNbO4

2022

In this work, we used Raman spectroscopic and optical absorption measurements and first-principles calculations to unravel the properties of wolframite-type ScNbO4 at ambient pressure and under high pressure. We found that monoclinic wolframite-type ScNbO4 is less compressible than most wolframites and that under high pressure it undergoes two phase transitions at ∼5 and ∼11 GPa, respectively. The first transition induces a 9% collapse of volume and a 1.5 eV decrease of the band gap energy, changing the direct band gap to an indirect one. According to calculations, pressure induces symmetry changes (P2/c–Pnna–P2/c). The structural sequence is validated by the agreement between phonon calcul…
