Questo servizio riconduce a sistema alcune tra le più significative prospettive di riflessione teorica e relative ricadute sul piano della prassi che si sono avviate in Italia nell'ultimo anno, nel tentativo di superare alcune retoriche sul ritorno alla normalità che sembrano permeare discorsi, narrazioni e proposte operative per il post-pandemia. Un quadro composito di interventi in grado di delineare future agende di ricerca e di proporre per le città e i territori un progetto di futuro differente.
Purity and Dirt as Social Constructions: Environmental Health in an Urban Shantytown of Lagos

The focus of this article, on everyday life management, emerges from a theoretical discussion about culturally specific attitudes to environmental health. Local perceptions of purity and dirt in an urban shantytown of Lagos, Nigeria, are examined through a case study of the Amukoko urban district. The qualitative data is from two fieldwork phases carried out in 1998 and 2001 in Lagos, consisting of eleven in-depth interviews, eight focus group discussions and participatory observations among Yoruba women and men. L'urbanistica va verso la "lenta dissoluzione del piano locale". Č necessario pertanto indirizzare gli sforzi verso l'invenzione di un nuovo organismo urbano flessibile capace di esprimere le cento maniere diverse di interpretare la realtŕ odierna, difficilmente adattabile alla rigiditŕ dei confini amministrativi. Le trasformazioni della cittŕ contemporanea dimostrano che non si tratta piů di dare soltanto una forma alle quantitŕ; si tratta di realizzare un sistema flessibile e in continuo sviluppo, confermante in ogni sua parte - anche nelle periferie - la propria caratteristica di "cittŕ", realmente vivibile.

The article is the introduction to an Urban Research and Practice special issue conceived with the aim of exploring some of the different ways EU regional policy may have influenced the development process of four Southern European cities, Porto (PT), Malaga (ES), Palermo (IT), and Thessaloniki (GR). The selection of case studies relates to cities at the ‘margins of Europe’ in both the sense of places outside the geographical core of the continent and located in those regions – the ‘less developed regions’ – where EU Cohesion policy has been manifested in significant investment over an extended period of time. The fundamental objective of this research is establishing favorable active methods applied to students in laboratory work, taking into account the peculiarities of students and the theme specificity so that they form certain practical skills to sensory and textural analysis of cheese. For the research purposes, students were grouped from one of the specializations in two heterogeneous groups. Taking into account their potential for learning, a different method of teaching and learning was applied separately for both groups of students. Furthermore, they engage with the question of how institutional design principles shape citizen participation in these processes.

Le implicazioni reciproche tra spazi aperti urbani e alimentazione sono pertinenti non solo in termini di produzione ma anche di preparazione e consumo di cibo.
