Random utility approach to re-design passengers interchange nodes

The passengers interchange node is a complex infrastructure, where the user can choose among different modal options to do his/her trip. These transport infrastructures have various terminals (car park, bus stop, metro, light rail, railway, extra-urban and sub urban bus and so on). The passengers, inside interchange node, have to reach these terminals walking often with luggage and for long distances. Foundations of the right of the public utilities, Rolland laws apply vigorously to the public service for electricity, where activities did not change since the advent of the « electricity fairy ». It is always about producing, transporting, distributing and supplying electricity, respecting the general interest. Nevertheless, the legal framework applicable to these activities is under a dramatic transition, stemming from the will of the European Union to create a single market for electricity. Opportunity Discovery and Creation in Cloud Computing

Cloud computing provides opportunities for firms selling or using cloud services. However, little is known about how entrepreneurs discover or create these opportunities for cloud computing. In this study, we found that the opportunities discovered in cloud computing were related to the development of software for a particular need. By contrast, created opportunities were developed under conditions of technological uncertainty, at a time when the market did not yet exist. It appears that created opportunities, if successful, bring long-term competitive advantages, whereas discovered opportunities are more easily copied and exploited by competitors. peerReviewed

The multiplication of distance learning platforms and the complexity of some of those used within the university system raise questions. First of all, the stabilization of writing practices of digital documents. Secondly, the evaluation of these devices. We want to address this last point in this article. We limit ourselves to an approach focused on evaluating the human-computer interface. Problem Transformation Methods with Distance-Based Learning for Multi-Target Regression

Multi-target regression is a special subset of supervised machine learning problems. Problem transformation methods are used in the field to improve the performance of basic methods. The purpose of this article is to test the use of recently popularized distance-based methods, the minimal learning machine (MLM) and the extreme minimal learning machine (EMLM), in problem transformation. The main advantage of the full data variants of these methods is the lack of any meta-parameter. The experimental results for the MLM and EMLM show promising potential, emphasizing the utility of the problem transformation especially with the EMLM. peerReviewed
