All-Optical frequency Shifter in a Periodically Poled Lithium Tantalate Waveguide
2011
A frequency shifting device is fabricated and tested in a congruent Lithium Tantalate waveguide. Periodic poling for quasi-phase-matching and channels for operation in the near-infrared C-band were obtained, demonstrating a two-stage parametric conversion.
Influence of the electro-optical properties of an a-Si:H single layer on the performances of a pin solar cell
2012
We analyze the results of an extensive characterization study involving electrical and optical measurements carried out on hydrogenated amorphous silicon (α-Si:H) thin film materials fabricated under a wide range of deposition conditions. By adjusting the synthesis parameters, we evidenced how conductivity, activation energy, electrical transport and optical absorption of an α-Si:H layer can be modified and optimized. We analyzed the activation energy and the pre-exponential factor of the dark conductivity by varying the dopant-to-silane gas flow ratio. Optical measurements allowed to extract the absorption spectra and the optical bandgap. Additionally, we report on the temperature dependen…
The generalized H-point standard-additions method to determine analytes present in two different chemical forms in unknown matrix samples. Part II. C…
2000
The generalized H-point standard-additions method (GHPSAM) is used in order to obtain the total Cr(VI) and chromate concentration in water samples whose matrices are completely unknown. Moreover, a new methodology, which is a modification of the GHPSAM, is proposed for the simultaneous determination of the two major chemical forms of Cr(VI) present in the sample. The method is based on the location of spectral intervals where the behaviour of the interferent absorbance can be considered as linear. From these intervals, the analyte concentration free from bias error can be estimated. Spiked samples of dig and harbour water measured in the UV–visible spectral region have been tested to check …
Comparison of aerosol size distributions measured at ground level and calculated from inversion of solar radiances
2005
Ground-based sunphotometry measurements can be used to investigate atmospheric aerosol optical properties, such as the volume size distribution, an important parameter in the study of the effect of aerosol on atmospheric processes. Most inversion algorithms assume constant aerosol optical characteristics over the whole air column. In this work we present observational evidence of the limitations of this simplifying assumption in cases where the aerosol vertical structure is highly inhomogeneous. During the field campaign VELETA 2002, carried out in Granada (Spain), a quite complete characterization of the atmospheric aerosol was obtained by simultaneously measuring the columnar aerosol char…
Efisiensi Biaya Pakan Melalui Pemanfaatan Rayap Pohon (Coptotermes sp.) dalam Pembesaran Ikan Mas Komet(Carassius auratus auratus)
2017
Should TiO2 nanostructures doped with Li+ be used as photoanodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting applications?
2017
[EN] Different TiO2 nanostructures, nanotubes and nanosponges, were obtained by anodization of Ti under stagnant and hydrodynamic conditions. Samples were doped with Li+ before and after annealing at 450 degrees C during 1 h. The nanostructures were characterized by different microscopy techniques: Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM) and Raman Confocal Laser Microscopy. Additionally, Incident Photon-to-electron Conversion Efficiency (IPCE), photoelectrochemical water splitting and stability measurements were also performed. According to the results, TiO2 nanostructures doped before annealing present the worst photocurrent response, even if compared with undoped samples. On …
Purely organic Vis-to-UV upconversion with an excited annihilator singlet beyond 4 eV
2022
The conversion of visible light into high-energy UV photons via sensitized triplet–triplet annihilation (TTA-UC) could pave the way for several energy-demanding applications. However, only a handful of annihilator chromophores for Vis-to-UV upconversion are known and the current limit for the excited-state energy of the UV emitter in TTA-UC schemes is below 4 eV, i.e., in the spectral region (>310 nm) where the sun still provides a considerable photon flux. Herein, we present a novel biphenyl-based annihilator with a highly fluorescent singlet state at 4.04 eV. This annihilator can be combined with a widely-used TADF sensitizer to yield an efficient blue-light (2.77 eV) driven upconversion …
Monotonicity-based inversion of the fractional Schr\"odinger equation II. General potentials and stability
2019
In this work, we use monotonicity-based methods for the fractional Schr\"odinger equation with general potentials $q\in L^\infty(\Omega)$ in a Lipschitz bounded open set $\Omega\subset \mathbb R^n$ in any dimension $n\in \mathbb N$. We demonstrate that if-and-only-if monotonicity relations between potentials and the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map hold up to a finite dimensional subspace. Based on these if-and-only-if monotonicity relations, we derive a constructive global uniqueness results for the fractional Calder\'on problem and its linearized version. We also derive a reconstruction method for unknown obstacles in a given domain that only requires the background solution of the fractional Sch…
Conversion electron Mössbauer study of low carbon steel polarized in aqueous sulfate and sulfite containing sulfate solutions
1993
Abstract The passivation of low carbon steel was studied in aqueous solutions of 0.5 M Na 2 SO 4 (pH = 3.5 and 6.5) and of 0.5 M Na 2 SO 4 + 0.001 M NaHSO 3 (pH 3.5 and 6.5). The used conversion electron Mossbauer spectroscopy (CEMS) with the complementary electrochemical, microscopic and spectrophotometric investigations proved that the presence of sulfite ion induces pitting corrosion. The compositions and thichnesses of the passive films formed during the electrochemical treatments are determined from the conversion electron Mossbauer spectra. γ-FeOOH was found in each case as a major component. At pH = 3.5, the sextet belonging to Fe 3 C appears in the spectra in most cases, and also Fe…
