Siti Web Museali: Identità Perdute. Appunti per una “storia” del progetto web museale nei primi anni 2000

2021

This discussion tries to investigate the theme of the "web amnesia" in relation to the website project of cultural institutions. More precisely, the reflection is inspired by a "rereading" of a research experience gained within the University of Palermo through the drafting of a doctoral thesis entitled "The web for culture. From digital identity to the design of online services” which had as its objective the mapping of the websites of museums or cultural institutions in relation to quality criteria, operational indications, design guidelines and, in general, to all the issues of the sectoral scientific debate of the early 2000s. Today, thanks to this possible reinterpretation, this resear…

Bilingual corporate websites - from translation to transcreation?

2013

Published version of an article in the journal: Journal of Specialised Translation. Also available from the publisher at: http://www.jostrans.org/issue20/art_rike.pdf Open Access As an increasing number of companies see the world as their marketplace, bilingual and/or multilingual websites are becoming increasingly common, and the demand for translations in this domain is growing. Corporate websites are multimodal, and verbal messages, images, layout and sometimes animations and sound interact to create the rhetoric on the site. With web texts being instantly available to readers anywhere, the translator’s role as a cultural mediator attains a special significance as the texts may be access…

2017

Diplomdarba tēma: Uzņēmuma produktu pārdošana izmantojot e-komercijas iespējas. Diplomdarba mērķis ir izstrādāt uzņēmuma koncepcijai un attīstības plāniem atbilstošu mājas lapas vizuālo dizainu. Diplomdarba ietvaros izmantotas gan kvalitatīvās, gan kvantitatīvās pētījuma metodes. Tiešsaistes mārketinga pielietojums viesnīcā "NEIBURGS"

2017

Web 2.0: Is the Museum-Visitor Relationship Being Redefined?

2015

International audience; Museums' growing integration of Web 2.0 techniques is indicative of their readiness to redefine their relationship with their audience. While visitors were traditionally kept at arm's length, the use of these techniques now involves them at every stage in implementing the museum offer online. By scrutinizing the Web sites of institutions and the tools they use, the authors are able to highlight the different roles that now fall to the audience in terms of communication, mediation and artistic creation. The authors go on to analyze the ramifications of visitor involvement. While such involvement may well add to audience competencies and make museums more accessible an…

Delfos: the Oracle to Predict NextWeb User's Accesses

2007

Despite the wide and intensive research efforts focused on Web prediction and prefetching techniques aimed to reduce user's perceived latency, few attempts to implement and use them in real environments have been done, mainly due to their complexity and supposed limitations that low user available bandwidths imposed few years ago. Nevertheless, current user bandwidths open a new scenario for prefetching that becomes again an interesting option to improve web performance. This paper presents Delfos, a framework to perform web predictions and prefetching on a real environment that tries to cover the existing gap between research and praxis. Delfos is integrated in the web architecture without…

To answer these objectives not only a number of methods of collection and analysis of information is used, but in turn, the data generated is inserted in a wide theoretical discussion about love and relationships. Thus, in the first part of this work, the imagery of love is analyzed from its main myths and stories. Subsequently the historical and sociological constitution of relationships is analyzed. Epistemological, methodological and et…
