Methodological Guide for the Analysis of Teacher Issues : : Teacher Training Initiative for Sub-Saharan Africa (TTISSA) : Teacher Policy Development …
2011
This guide aims to permit an analysis of the different dimensions of the teacher issue in various countries, with the objective of building a global vision of this issue. The work that it aims to support is thus not descriptive but rather analytical. In essence, the goal is not to describe how this or that aspect of the system, such as teacher deployment or training, functions, but rather to analyze existing situations and the results obtained and to attempt to identify the range of options possible in the country. The analysis allows the identification of spaces for dialogue to define teacher policy
Modelling in evaluating a working life project in higher education
2012
Abstract This article describes an evaluation method based on collaboration between the higher education, a care home and university, in a RD (2) comprehensive data collection methods are needed; (3) shared tools can be developed in interactive forums in ongoing evaluation, and (4) modelling makes professional expertise visible and brakes boundaries between different professions.
Polish zombie-proletariat. Political recomposition of class
2014
The main goal of the paper is to show, that Marxist vocabulary can still be relevant in the debate on Polish transition and helpful to establish new recomposition of the working class, that will be more effective as political subject. Political recomposition of proletariat is treated here as a main condition of ability for Polish society to make history it’s own subject again. The paper also contains: some methodological insights on the conditions of Marxism’s relevancy today; overview of some narratives on Polish transition from Marxist perspective; and my own proposal to treat the transition as a part of new wave of global enclosures, which is the essence of neoliberalism.
Neural network approach to solving fuzzy nonlinear equations using Z-numbers
2020
In this article, the fuzzy property is described by means of the Z-number as the coefficients and variables of the fuzzy equations. This alteration for the fuzzy equation is appropriate for system modeling with Z-number parameters. In this article, the fuzzy equation with Z-number coefficients and variables is tended to be used as the models for the uncertain systems. The modeling issue related to the uncertain system is to obtain the Z-number coefficients and variables of the fuzzy equation. Nevertheless, it is extremely hard to get the Z-number coefficients of the fuzzy equations. In this article, in order to model the uncertain nonlinear systems, a novel structure of the multilayer neura…
Extracting similar sub-graphs across PPI Networks
2009
Singling out conserved modules (corresponding to connected sub-graphs) throughout protein-protein interaction networks of different organisms is a main issue in bioinformatics because of its potential applications in biology. This paper presents a method to discover highly matching sub-graphs in such networks. Sub-graph extraction is carried out by taking into account, on the one side, both protein sequence and network structure similarities and, on the other side, both quantitative and reliability information possibly available about interactions. The method is conceived as a generalization of a known technique, able to discover functional orthologs in interaction networks. Some preliminar…
Backoff Hardware Architecture for Inter-FPGA Traffic Management
2017
International audience; Multi-FPGA platforms are considered to be the mostappropriate experimental way to emulate a large Multi-ProcessorSystem-on-Chip based on a Network-on-Chip. However, theuse of a Network-on-Chip in several FPGAs requires inter-FPGA communication links to replace intra-FPGA links betweenrouters. As the ratio of the logic capacity to the number of IOsonly increases slowly with each generation of FPGA, IOs inFPGA are becoming a scare resource. And as there are morerouters than IOs, using a Network-on-Chip requires sharinginter-FPGA links between routers, and sharing an external linkcan lead to bottlenecks. Here, we evaluate the inter-FPGA trafficmanagement using a backoff…
Patient and mentor language style matching as a predictor of working alliance, engagement with treatment as usual, and eating disorders symptoms over…
2022
Objective The aim of this study was to examine the processes involved in a guided self-help (GSH) pre-treatment intervention (RecoveryMANTRA) for patients with anorexia nervosa (AN), by measuring the levels of patient/mentor Language Style Matching (LSM). RecoveryMANTRA was supported by student mentors or peer mentors (recovered individuals) over six weekly chat-based sessions. We examined whether LSM during RecoveryMANTRA predicted patients'working alliance with the clinic therapist, motivation, eating disorder (ED) and general psychopathology. A further aim was to examine differences in LSM between student mentors and peer mentors. Method 87 AN adults received RecoveryMANTRA plus treatmen…
Neurocognitive endophenotypes (endophenocognitypes) from studies of relatives of bipolar disorder subjects: a systematic review.
2008
Abstract Background There is growing interest to research neurocognition as a putative endophenotype for subjects with bipolar disorders (BD). The authors sought to review the available literature focused on relatives of subjects with bipolar disorder (BD-Rels) and identify suitable cognitive candidates to endophenotypes or endophenocognitypes. Method A systematic review was conducted in Medline, EMBASE and PsycINFO databases (1980–July 2007), supplemented with a manual search of reference lists. Results Twenty-three cross-sectional papers of discordant twins (4 studies), genetic high-risk subjects (7), and different BD-Rel groups (12) met the inclusion criteria and evaluated 532 BD-Rels. I…
The relationship of symptom dimensions with premorbid adjustment and cognitive characteristics at first episode psychosis: Findings from the EU-GEI s…
2021
Premorbid functioning and cognitive measures may reflect gradients of developmental impairment across diagnostic categories in psychosis. In this study, we sought to examine the associations of current cognition and premorbid adjustment with symptom dimensions in a large first episode psychosis (FEP) sample. We used data from the international EU-GEI study. Bifactor modelling of the Operational Criteria in Studies of Psychotic Illness (OPCRIT) ratings provided general and specific symptom dimension scores. Premorbid Adjustment Scale estimated premorbid social (PSF) and academic adjustment (PAF), and WAIS-brief version measured IQ. A MANCOVA model examined the relationship between symptom di…
Working conditions, job strain, and traffic safety among three groups of public transport drivers
2018
Background: Working conditions and psychosocial work factors have acquired an important role explaining the well-being and performance of professional drivers, including those working in the field of public transport. This study aimed to examine the association between job strain and the operational performance of public transport drivers and to compare the expositions with psychosocial risk at work of three different types of transport workers: taxi drivers, city bus drivers, and interurban bus drivers. Method: A sample of 780 professional drivers was drawn from three transport companies in Bogota (Colombia). The participants answered the Job Content Questionnaire and a set of sociodemogra…
