The role of value in services: a study in a retail environment

2006

PurposeThis paper aims to underline the effects of shopping value on customer satisfaction and to determine its antecedent variables.Design/methodology/approachA qualitative survey through interviews with hypermarket customers was first carried out. It was followed by a quantitative study, carried out in two stages: 199 patrons were first interrogated in order to clarify the outlet characteristics scale. A second set of data was then collected (436 respondents). Factorial analysis, confirmatory factorial analysis and analysis of regression were conducted.FindingsThe last study results show that both utilitarian and hedonic values have an influence on satisfaction; they tend to indicate that…

Mieux comprendre la fidélité des consommateurs

2008

The effect of an advertisement’s colour on emotions evoked by attitude towards the ad

2007

Despite its importance surprisingly little is known about the influence of colour in advertising. This paper studies the effects of the three components of an ad’s colour (hue, saturation and lightness) on the emotions it evokes and on attitudes towards it. It is assumed that the influence of colour varies with the individual, whose optimal stimulation level (OSL) is considered a moderator variable. Analyses of covariance were conducted. The results show that OSL is a moderator variable accounting for the relations between hue and the pleasure evoked by the ad, and hue and the attitude towards the ad. Moreover, OSL proves to be a moderator for the relation between saturation and the same de…

Some effects of color incongruity in a visual Ad

2009

32; While the effects of an ad's colour on attitudes towards it have already been investigated, far less work has been done on the influence of incongruous colours. This paper examines the effects of an ad using an incongruous colour on several variables of the advertising persuasion process. Analyses of variance have been conducted for an experimental study involving 407 respondents. The results show that a colour that is incongruous with the ad or with the product advertised affects the elements of surprise, perceived provocation, attitudes towards the ad and the positive beliefs about it.

2008

The aim of this article is to offer a synthesis of a very important concept in marketing. After having analysing the definitions of loyalty and their evolution, an overview of theoritical explanation is presented and four main processes based on different theories are identified. The aim is to understand how these theories can be integrated in a general model, in order to open up new avenues of thought.
