Total body irradiation and cyclophosphamide is a conditioning regimen for unrelated bone marrow transplantation in a patient with chronic myelogenous…

1998

Five years after the diagnosis of Ph chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) a 31-year-old patient developed malignant nephrosclerosis with renal failure. He then underwent an allogeneic unrelated BMT in first chronic phase CML. The preparative regimen consisted of fractionated total body irradiation (TBI) and cyclophosphamide (CY). We studied the pharmacokinetics of cyclophosphamide on hemodialysis and compared clinical parameters including time to engraftment and toxicity with parameters of a patient with normal renal function who also received an unrelated marrow as treatment for CML in first chronic phase. Our results suggest that TBI/CY is a suitable conditioning regimen for…

Inter-comparison of stratospheric O3 and NO2 abundances retrieved from …

2005

Abstract. Stratospheric O3 and NO2 abundances measured by different remote sensing instruments are inter-compared: (1) Line-of-sight absorptions and vertical profiles inferred from solar spectra in the ultra-violet (UV), visible and infrared (IR) wavelength ranges measured by the LPMA/DOAS (Limb Profile Monitor of the Atmosphere/Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy) balloon payload during balloon ascent/descent and solar occultation are examined with respect to internal consistency. (2) The balloon borne stratospheric profiles of O3 and NO2 are compared to collocated space-borne skylight limb observations of the Envisat/SCIAMACHY satellite instrument. The trace gas profiles are retr…

African volcanic emissions influencing atmospheric aerosols over the Amazon rain forest

2018

Long-range transport (LRT) plays an important role in the Amazon rain forest by bringing in different primary and secondary aerosol particles from distant sources. The atmospheric oxidation of dimethyl sulfide (DMS), emitted from marine plankton, is considered an important sulfate source over the Amazon rain forest, with a lesser contribution from terrestrial soil and vegetation sulfur emissions. Volcanic sulfur emissions from Africa could be a source of particulate sulfate to the Amazonian atmosphere upon transatlantic transport but no observations have been published. By using satellite observations, together with ground‑based and airborne aerosol particle observations, this paper provide…

Improved column-based radiochemical processing of the generator produced 68Ga.

2011

An improved chemical strategy for processing of the generator produced (68)Ga was developed based on processing of the original (68)Ge/(68)Ga generator eluate on a micro-column. Direct pre-concentration and purification of the eluted (68)Ga is performed on a cation-exchange resin in hydrochloric acid/acetone media. A supplementary step based on a second micro-column filled with a second resin allows direct re-adsorption of (68)Ga eluted from the cation exchanger. (68)Ga is finally striped from the second resin with a small volume of pure water. For this purpose a strong anion exchanger and a novel extraction chromatographic resin based on tetraalkyldiglycolamides are characterized. The stra…

Performance of the large scale HV-CMOS pixel sensor MuPix8

2019

The Mu3e experiment is searching for the charged lepton flavour violating decay $ ^+\rightarrow e^+ e^- e^+ $, aiming for an ultimate sensitivity of one in $10^{16}$ decays. In an environment of up to $10^9$ muon decays per second the detector needs to provide precise vertex, time and momentum information to suppress accidental and physics background. The detector consists of cylindrical layers of $50\, \text{m}$ thin High Voltage Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (HV-MAPS) placed in a $1\,\text{T}$ magnetic field. The measurement of the trajectories of the decay particles allows for a precise vertex and momentum reconstruction. Additional layers of fast scintillating fibre and tile detec…
