Il patrimonio edilizio storico è da sempre oggetto di studio per ogni riqualificazione per rispondere alle nuove esigenze della società. Le attuali trasformazioni devono tenere conto della compatibilità delle nuove esigenze con la conservazione delle testimonianze storiche; particolare attenzione va riservata ai borghi storici che devono essere riconosciuti come dotati di un patrimonio inestimabile. Lo studio mira alla valorizzazione e al recupero di edifici residenziali storici a Pusterna, frazione del borgo medievale di Petralia Sottana, centro minore delle Madonie, in Sicilia, con approccio bioclimatico e strategie passive. L'obiettivo della ricerca è migliorare la qualità della vita nei paesi di montagna attuando strategie di indoor comfort per valorizzare lo stato di funzionamento delle componenti edilizie in relazione alle peculiarità del territorio. Oggi, grazie ai software di valutazione energetica, è possibile monitorare le soluzioni individuate e la fattibilità degli interventi proposti. La valorizzazione che passa attraverso un pensiero sostenibile del patrimonio esistente permette di innescare circoli virtuosi a vantaggio dell'economia e del ripopolamento delle antiche aree urbane. The inherited building heritage has always been the subject of study for any redevelopment to meet the new needs of society. Current transformations must take into account the compatibility of the new needs with the conservation of historical evidence; particular attention should be paid to the historic villages which must be recognized as endowed with a priceless heritage. The study aims at the enhancement and recovery of historic residential buildings in Pusterna, a fraction of the medieval village of Petralia Sottana, a minor center of the Madonie, in Sicily, using a bioclimatic approach and passive strategies. The aim of the research is to improve the quality of life in mountain villages by implementing indoor comfort strategies that enhance the functioning state of the building components in relation to the peculiarities of the territory. Today, thanks to energy assessment software, it is possible to monitor the solutions identified and the feasibility of the proposed interventions. The enhancement that passes through a sustainable thought of the existing heritage allows us to trigger virtuous circles that benefit the economy and the repopulation of ancient urban areas.
