Based on interviews with innovative companies in the education and training sector, this article studies the processes by which these companies innovate. The observations focus on the positioning of innovative companies in the field of education, the constraints that structure them, the processes implemented in the deployment of services and products, and the organization of communication on design. The results of the lexicometric analysis contribute to describing an episteme of contemporary design that both structures and limits the work of designers. This episteme partly reverses the Taylorist episteme of industrial design while retaining some of its characteristics. In particular, the humanistic ambition of contemporary design is countered by the logic of influence necessary for the commercial development of innovative companies.
