[EN] Nickel oxides supported on gamma-alumina (Ni-loading from 5 to 30 wt% NiO) have been synthesized and tested in the oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of ethane in order to determine the importance of the NiO-support interaction. The best performance was achieved by the catalyst with 15 wt% NiO; higher NiO-loadings lead to the formation of unselective bulk-like NiO and lower Ni-loadings present high proportion of free alumina surface sites. The presence of oxalic acid and/or niobium in the synthesis gel resulted in the formation of NiO particles with similar size, but higher crystallinity and reducibility than the standard 15 wt% NiO catalyst. Well-resolved and information-rich J-spectra are the foundation for chemical detection in zero-field NMR. However, even for relatively small molecules, spectra exhibit complexity, hindering the analysis. To address this problem, we investigate an example biomolecule with a complex J-coupling network─urea, a key metabolite in protein catabolism─and demonstrate ways of simplifying its zero-field spectra by modifying spin topology. Background: The presence of any underlying heart condition could influence outcomes during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Methods: The registry HOPE-COVID-19 (Health Outcome Predictive Evaluation for COVID-19, NCT04334291) is an international ambispective study, enrolling COVID-19 patients discharged from hospital, dead or alive. Darbā vispārīgi tiek apskatīta tetovējumu vēsturiskā izmantošana, to mākslinieciskais raksturs un sabiedrības viedokļa attīstība attiecībā uz tetovējumiem kopumā, kā rezultātā sabiedrībā aizvien biežāk rodas jautājumi par potenciālu tetovējumu aizsardzību autortiesību kontekstā. A 2.6 V-10 μa Nanorectenna Harvester based on thermal radiation of the car exhaust system

In this paper, for the first time, the design and simulation of a thermal nanorectenna energy harvester for harvesting the electromagnetic energy from the car exhaust system is presented. The nanorectenna system is composed of three gold arrow-bowtie nanoantennas with different resonance frequencies and a geometric nanodiode in the feed gap of each nanoantenna. The resonance frequencies at about 50 THz, 65 THz, and 83 THz correspond to the frequencies of the thermal radiation emitted from the exhaust tailpipe, catalytic converter, and manifold, respectively. Ērču encefalīts (ĒE) mūsdienās ir plaši pazīstama vīrusinfekcija. ĒE ir infekcijas slimība, ko cilvēkam pārnes Ixodes tipa ērces. Latvijā par endēmiskiem ir atzīti 22 novadi, tādēļ ir liels risks inficēties ar ĒE. Līdz ar to iedzīvotāju informētība par ĒE un profilaktisko terapijas iespējām ir aktuāla un svarīga. Darba mērķis bija sociālās aptaujas ietvaros uzzināt un novērtēt Latvijas iedzīvotāju informētību par ĒE vīrusinfekciju un to profilaktisko terapijas iespējām Latvijā. The issue of road networks being in deplorable conditions is one that is widespread globally. One of the main precursors for this is that when preparing maintenance management systems, many road agencies rely on data which is often outdated or inaccurate. This is due in many cases to insufficient budgets which are unable to adequately address both maintenance and rehabilitation.
