Tämä artikkeli käsittelee e-urheilua osana aktiivisesti pelaavien turkulaisten poikien elämää. Laadullisen haastatteluaineiston (N=14) kautta artikkeli avaa nuorten näkemyksiä e-urheilun asemasta sekä henkilökohtaisena että yhteiskunnallisena toimintana. Tutkimus viittaa siihen, että e-urheilun rooli aktiivisesti yhdessä pelaavien poikien arjessa toimii perinteisten urheilulajien tavoin tavoitteellisena kilpailuna kuin myös vähemmän tavoitteellisena sosiaalisena ajanvietteenä. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 44 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 10 attēlus, 12 tabulas un 68 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis: novērtēt Latvijas bērnu vecāku informētību par bērnu vecumā sastopamajiem redzes traucējumiem. Pētījumā piedalījās 454 Latvijas bērnu vecāki, kas elektroniski aizpildīja aptauju ar 6 sadaļām: informētā piekrišana, informācija par vecāku, informācija par bērnu, informētība par bērnu redzes traucējumiem, veselības pratības (HLS-EU-Q16) anketa un informācija vecākiem par redzes traucējumiem. AbstractRobots have been slowly but steadily introduced to welfare sectors. Our previous observations based on a large-scale survey study on Finnish elder-care workers in 2016 showed that while robots were perceived to be useful in certain telecare tasks, using robots may also prove to be incompatible with the care workers’ personal values. Hierarchical Bayesian models for analysing fish biomass data. An application to Parapenaeus longirostris biomass data

The Mediterranean International Trawl Survey (MEDITS) programme provides spatially referenced ecological data. We adopted a hierarchical Bayesian model to analyse Parapenaeus longirostris biomass data. The model comprises three parts, each of which identifies: the variability due to the explanatory variables, the variability due to the spatial domain (seen as a Gaussian Process) and the irregular component modelled as white noise. The estimated parameters show that some seabed characteristics affect biomass quantity and that the estimated behaviour of the Gaussian Process changes over different groups of years.

Darbā analizētas hipofīzes šūnu kultūru biomolekulārās īpašības un no hipofīzes izcelsmes šūnām brīvās DNS molekulu klātbūtne pacientu asins plazmā. Tika konstatēts, ka viena no šūnu kultūrām ir multipotentas mezinhimāli stromālās šūnas, kas visticamāk nav galvenā PitNET šūnu populācija, bet, iespējams, tai ir audzēja darbību atbalstoša loma. Otra šūnu kultūra ir hipofīzes sfēru veidojošas šūnas, kuras visticamāk, veido audzēja galveno audu masu. Tām bija kopīgas ģenētiskās iezīmes ar galveno audzēja masu. Programmed cell death ligand (PD-L1)/PD-1 expression has been studied in a variety of cancers and blockage of PD-L1/PD-1 pathway is a cornerstone of immunotherapy. We studied PD-L1/PD-1 immunohistochemical expression in 47 thyroid gland specimens in groups of (1) Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT) only; (2) HT and follicular epithelial dysplasia (FED); and (3) HT, FED, and papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). PD-1 positivity was found in immune cells, namely in lymphocytes, macrophages, and plasma cells with mean values for lymphocytes and macrophages 9% in HT group, 4% in FED group, and 4% in PTC group.
