Les jeunes en situation de NEET : le rôle des compétences de base

International audience; Enjeu prioritaire des politiques publiques nationales et européennes, les jeunes qui ne sont ni en emploi, ni en études, ni en formation connaissent un risque d’exclusion plus ou moins marqué selon les pays. Si le niveau d'éducation joue un rôle central dans ces situations, l’approche par les compétences de base permet d’affiner la focale. Les données internationales montrent en effet qu’un même niveau de diplôme ne certifie pas partout le même niveau de compétences. Comment s’expliquent ces écarts ? Dans quelle mesure ces compétences protègent-elles des situations de NEET indépendamment du diplôme ?

Dynamics of two competing species in the presence of Lévy noise sources

We consider a Lotka-Volterra system of two competing species subject to multiplicative alpha-stable Lévy noise. The interaction parameter between the species is a random process which obeys a stochastic differential equation with a generalized bistable potential in the presence both of a periodic driving term and an additive alpha-stable Lévy noise. We study the species dynamics, which is characterized by two different regimes, exclusion of one species and coexistence of both. We find quasi-periodic oscillations and stochastic resonance phenomenon in the dynamics of the competing species, analysing the role of the Lévy noise sources.

Digital information receiver based on stochastic resonance

International audience; An electronic receiver based on stochastic resonance is presented to rescue subthreshold modulated digital data. In real experiment, it is shown that a complete data restoration is achieved for both uniform and Gaussian white noise.

Complex Formation between Polyelectrolytes and Oppositely Charged Oligoelectrolytes

We study the complex formation between one long polyanion chain and many short oligocation chains by computer simulations. We employ a coarse-grained bead-spring model for the polyelectrolyte chains, and model explicitly the small salt ions. We systematically vary the concentration and the length of the oligocation, and examine how the oligocations affects the chain conformation, the static structure factor, the radial and axial distribution of various charged species, and the number of bound ions in the complex. Comparison of electron density properties in frozen and relaxed electronic distributions.

Two kinds of electron densities for several small molecules (H(2), FH, CH(3)CH(3), CH(3)NH(2), CH(3)OH, and CH(3)F) have been generated for a wide range of bond distances. The first one, as the sum of the electron density of the isolated fragments, and the second one by optimizing the electron density at each given geometrical disposition. A number of properties of this two electronic distributions have been compared (position of the bond critical points, electron density, Laplacian, curvatures, and local energies). The differences, associated to the bond formation, are found to be very important for most of the cases.

Sequence Learning in a Single Trial: A Spiking Neurons Model Based on Hippocampal Circuitry.

ABSTRACTIn contrast with our everyday experience using brain circuits, it can take a prohibitively long time to train a computational system to produce the correct sequence of outputs in the presence of a series of inputs. This suggests that something important is missing in the way in which models are trying to reproduce basic cognitive functions. In this work, we introduce a new neuronal network architecture that is able to learn, in a single trial, an arbitrary long sequence of any known objects. A modeling study suggesting how a reduction in the context-dependent input on CA1 pyramidal neurons could generate schizophrenic behavior.

The neural mechanisms underlying schizophrenic behavior are unknown and very difficult to investigate experimentally, although a few experimental and modeling studies suggested possible causes for some of the typical psychotic symptoms related to this disease. The brain region most involved in these processes seems to be the hippocampus, because of its critical role in establishing memories for objects or events in the context in which they occur. On “R” in phrasal compounds – a contextualist approach

Abstract In phrasal compounds of the type XP+Y, one can assume a relation “R” that holds between the head and the non-head just as in ordinary N+N compounds. The paper discusses the question how “R” should be understood. Three recent approaches, i.e., construction morphology, parallel architecture view, and indexicalism are discussed. It is argued that all approaches lack a pragmatic component which is necessary for modeling pragmatic inferencing with respect to phrasal compounds. Thus, an “unspecific meaning” approach to the semantics of phrasal compounds, together with contextualist views on pragmatic enrichment, is a serious alternative to the approaches discussed.
