The ultrasounds-ionic liquids synergy on the copper catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition between phenyl acetylene and 4-azidoquinoline

2015

Abstract The effect of ultrasound irradiation on the copper catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition between phenylacetylene and 4-azidoquinoline has been studied in solution of different ionic liquids. In particular, we used ionic liquids featuring both aliphatic and aromatic mono- and dications, as well as anions differing in size, symmetry and coordination ability. We also examined the influence of the ionic liquids structural features on the reaction outcomes, finding that under magnetic stirring reactivity is favorably affected by the solvent structural organization, while under sonochemical conditions an opposite trend was observed. In all cases examined, sonochemical activation leads to …

Cyclodextrins in polymer synthesis: Influence of methylated β-cyclodextrin as host on the free radical copolymerization reactivity ratios of hydropho…

2001

Methylated (β-cyclodextrin (me-β-CD) was used to complex the hydrophobic monomers n-butyl acrylate (1), n-hexyl acrylate (2) and cyclohexyl acrylate (3) yielding the corresponding water soluble host/guest complexes 1a–3a. The complexes were copolymerized in water by free radical mechanism and the reactivity ratios were determined by measuring the monomer consumption by HPLC. The following reactivity ratios were found: copolymerization of 1a and 2a: r1= 1.01 ± 0.01; r2= 1.04 ± 0.01; copolymerization of 3a and 2a: r1= 0.74; r2= 1.28; copolymerization of 3a and 1a: r1= 0.75 ± 0.04; r2= 1.13 ± 0.01. In contrast to that, the copolymerization of the uncomplexed monomers 1–3 in organic medium (DMF…

Identification and structural characterization of O-beta-ribosyl-(1"----2')-adenosine-5"-phosphate in yeast methionine initiator tRNA.

1990

We report in this paper on the complete structure determination of the modified nucleotide A*, now called Ar(p), that was previously identified in yeast methionine initiator tRNA as an isomeric form of O-ribosyl-adenosine bearing an additional phosphoryl-monoester group on its ribose2 moiety. By using the chemical procedure of periodate oxidation and subsequent beta-elimination with cyclohexylamine on mono- and dinucleotides containing Ar(p), we characterized the location of the phosphate group on the C-5" of the ribose2 moiety, and the linkage between the two riboses as a (1"----2')-glycosidic bond. Since the structural difference between phosphatase treated Ar(p) and authentic O-alpha-rib…

Isolation and structural characterization of polypeptide antibiotics of the peptaibol class by high-performance liquid chromatography with field deso…

1984

Abstract A number of polypeptide antibiotics of the peptaibol class, i.e., trichotoxin, alamethicin, suzukacillin, hypelcin and paracelsin, have been separated into components and isolated by high-performance liquid chromatography on spherical, porous octadecylsilyl bonded phases. All peptaibols were found to reveal a strong microheterogeneity due to single or multiple amino acid exchange. Most of the closely related and partially isobaric sequence analogue could be resolved using mixed alcohol—water eluents. As demonstrated by the structure analysis of the paracelsins and the main component of trichotoxin A-50, high-performance liquid chromatography with field desorption and fast atom bomb…

Acidic Ionic Liquids as Composite Forming Additives for Ion-conducting Materials

2013

This paper represents the material conductivity investigation of several AILs (Acidic Ionic Liquids) containing an alkane sulfonic acid group covalently bonded to pyridine and N–alkylimidazole cations. Three different anions (HSO4-, H2PO4- and TsO-) have been introduced in the structure of ionic liquids to evaluate the impact of this factor on material conductivity. Ion conductivity values in all studied ionic liquids obtained from impedance measurements in temperature range from 20 to 120 °C. Values of electroconductivity depending on ionic liquid's structure vary in rage from 1.3410−5 to 1.0510−2 S/cm at 25 °C.

Amino acid contents of infant foods.

2006

The protein quality of three milk-cereal-based infant foods (paps) was evaluated by determining their amino acid contents and calculating the amino acid score. Proteins were subjected to acid hydrolysis, prior to which cysteine and methionine were oxidized with performic acid. Amino acids were determined by reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection with a prior derivatization with 6-aminoquinolyl-N-hydroxysuccinimidyl carbamate. Tryptophan was determined by reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection after basic hydrolysis. Glutamic acid, proline and leucine were the most abundant amino acids, whereas tryptophan and …

Chromatographic peak profile of ionogenic analytes upon elution with unbuffered eluents

1998

Experimental proof of the model was carried out for the separation of benzoic acid on a LiChrospher RP-18 column. The observed chromatographic peak profile coincides with the peak profile predicted by the model. The retention times of the dissociated and non-dissociated species determined by using an appropriate fitting procedure were 2.2 and 4.3 min, respectively. Based on these values, a theoretical peak profile was calculated, demonstrating a close agreement with the experimentally observed peak profile. An unexpectedly large difference was found for the retention times of the dissociated and non-dissociated species calculated by a fitting procedure and those experimentally measured on t…

Extraction of dansylated amino acids using the supported liquid membrane technique

1997

Extraction using the supported liquid membrane (SLM) technique demands conditions where the extracted compounds can be made uncharged allowing them to pass through the membrane. For amino acids, being bifunctional, such conditions can not be obtained directly. One way to overcome this problem is to block one of the functionalities by derivatization, utilising the other group for the transport. The SLM extraction of dansylated amino acids was investigated and optimized. It was possible to obtain high extraction efficiencies (>90%) for most amino acids. For amino acids with polar side chains, such high extraction efficiencies were only obtained at low analyte concentrations ( 10 nmol 1-l). Fo…

Free radical scavenging capability, antioxidant activity and chemical constituents of Pyrola incarnata Fisch. leaves

2013

Abstract In the present study, the crude extract and its four fractions of petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, n-butanol, water from Pyrola incarnata Fisch. leaves were prepared and their antioxidant activities were investigated by using four antioxidant assays in vitro. The ethyl acetate fraction showed remarkably strong antioxidant activities on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, ABTS radical scavenging, reducing power and β-carotene-linoleic acid bleaching, which were almost comparable to capacities of the positive controls (VC and BHT). The ethyl acetate fraction had the highest total phenolic and total flavonoid contents. Furthermore, Pearson correlation analysis was …

Extraction of short peptides using supported liquid membranes

2002

Studies of extraction of short peptides using supported liquid membranes containing Aliquat 336 as a carrier are presented. The extractions are carried out from an aqueous donor phase with pH ≥ 10 to an acceptor phase containing salt. The mass transfer is driven by the gradient of salt concentration between these phases. The extraction efficiency is dependent on the composition of water phases, the type and concentration of counter-ion in the stagnant acceptor phase and the flow rate of the donor phase. Moreover, it is also influenced by the concentration and structure of the examined peptides.
