Immediate versus delayed facilitated percutaneous coronary intervention. A pilot study

The study was aimed to investigate the outcomes in patients initially successfully treated pharmacologically and immediate PCI <2 hours, and in patients initially successfully treated with pharmacological therapy and delayed PCI (12-72 hours). All patients had to have successful reperfusion, to receive the combination of a standard abciximab infusion plus half dose rtPA. Similar results were observed in both groups. Delayed PCI group showed a favorable trend in restenosis and bleedings (ns) and a significant reduced angiographic evidence of thrombus formation in IRA. Eighty-one patients with high-risk hematological malignancies received unmanipulated haploidentical stem cell transplants (haploSCT) using the same protocol at four Spanish institutions. The conditioning regimen was thiotepa, busulfan and fludarabine; following bone marrow or peripheral blood infusion. Operative method, course and complications were analyzed retrospectively in 140 patients who underwent a conservative operation for renal tumor between June 1969 and December 1990. In 53 patients (20 women and 33 men, mean age 61.2 years, range 38 to 77 years, with 49 renal cell carcinomas and 4 benign renal tumors) there was an imperative indication for an organ preserving operation because nephrectomy would have made dialysis obligatory. Clavicle aseptic nonunion: is there a place for cortical allogenic strut graft?

Abstract We investigated functional and radiological outcome in 57 cases of midshaft clavicle nonunion treated with open reduction and internal fixation with plate and screws over a 13 year-period. Intercalary bone graft was used in 42 patients; opposite autologous strut graft was used in 31 cases to provide mechanical support to the host bone. Patients were analysed using chart and radiological review and assessed with DASH questionnaire obtained at the latest follow-up. 37 patients were male while 20 were females, with a mean age of 35 years (63–17).
